Personal Information

Lane Koentges

Opening Statement
Throughout my professional semesters as a student teacher I have had the opportunity to teach a
variety of subjects, gaining experience teaching content across diverse curricular areas within the
programs of studies. I am a Physical Education specialist, however, I do not see myself as a one
dimensional teacher. I have the skills, knowledge and ability to deliver an effective and engaging
lesson in multiple subject areas and differentiating content to meet the needs of individual
students. My leadership qualities allow me to positively influence the culture within the school.
I consider myself to be a dynamic teacher who goes beyond the classroom to create a culture
within the school setting that embraces all students and encourages a sense of community and
belonging. Relationship building is key to a successful partnership between student and teacher.
I value the connections I build with students to help them reach their potential in all aspects of
their learning. Recognizing the role parents play in the success of their childs education is well
understood and I value the contributions parents can make in providing support for their childs
learning. I take pride in immersing myself in new experiences to develop my professional
practice as an educator. My three professional semesters have created a solid foundation in
curriculum knowledge that allows me to structure concise and effective lessons, interact with staff
in a collaborative manner and manage a classroom that is interesting, engaging and above all, a
fun place to be.
