Poetry
In Room 3 we read a new poem each week.
We think about what the poem means and we
illustrate it with watercolour. We are learning to
represent an idea in many different ways.
We will show you our favorite poem and
illustration. This week our poem was about
Taking Time With Family.

Healthy Eating

We are learning about where the healthiest food comes from. We know that a maara kai is a
food garden. We know that fruit and vegetables are grown and give us fibre and nutrients.
We bought fruit to school from our fruit trees at home. Home grown fruit is best.
Nikara and Hohepa
The Continental Drift
We have been learning about making healthy choices.
Making a healthy choice includes thinking about what
we eat and how we exercise. But it is also really
important to take care of our head and our heart as
well. This means we need to be around people who
make us feel confident and happy. We learned this
shuffle, because it makes us feel awesome.

Zara and Karanga

We have been learning about Maara
Kai, or food gardens. He Maara Kai
The children in Room 3 learned about
the best way to prepare a food
garden and the different layers
needed in order for the food to grow
without any digging.

We also painted huawhenua or

vegetables. Our art is inspired by this
artist Moricko from Japan.
