Theme Park - Nervous System
Medieval Central Park
Introduction

The Medieval Central Park is a representation of the Nervous System. There are a total of
ten attractions that represent the brain and its lobes, which is the main organ that sends signals
throughout the whole body. The brain consists of 4 main lobes, which are the Occipital lobe,
Temporal lobe, Frontal lobe, and the Parietal lobe. Each lobe is responsible for certain functions,
including the five senses and other functions (balance, coordination, movement, etc.). In
Medieval Central Park, each attraction was made to stimulate a certain specific lobe. In addition,
the theme park includes a food court in the center to stimulate the sense of taste. Each attraction
is connected by pathways allowing patrons to travel between them. Similarly to the brain, this
layout allows communicate (or commute) between the lobes (or attractions). Our theme park is
based on the Medieval times, 11th century Europe. Entertainment, food, and architecture are
based upon the theme. Here, visitors can learn and experience the cultures and lifestyle of people
living in Medieval Central Park, while stimulating their brain lobes.

Attraction List
1) Ferris wheel
2) Pub Ride
3) Colosseum
4) The Theater
5) The Stables
6) The House of Mirrors
7) The Dragon Tram
8) The Moat
9) The Bridge
10) Witchs tent

1) Ferris Wheel

The Ferris Wheel is a symbol of

movement of how the seats are attached to
the rims while they move up and down and
how the ferris wheel is moving continuously.
Movement is one of the main functions of
the frontal lobe. Much like the ferris wheel,
the human body constantly moves or engages
in physical activity. Patrons can learn that
movement is what enables a person to do any
physical activity and to go at whatever speed.

2) Pub Ride
Similar to the Ferris Wheel, the Pub Ride
symbolizes movement, which is one of the main
functions of the frontal lobe. Each cup spins round
and round at the speed the employee puts it. In the
nervous system, neurons send electrical signals
throughout the body allowing the person to make any
movement at any speed and it also allows the plates
to spin around, when the employee pushes the bottom

sending signals through the wires making the thing rotate at whatever speed.
This attraction is for all ages and doesnt require any specific height. 4 people fit
in one cup and there are handles in the middle for the people to be able to grab on. This allows
participants to learn how and what enables a person to make any kind of movement and for this
attraction the button that starts the ride works, much like movement is a voluntary function
formed in the frontal lobe, and the wires are the neurons sending those electrical impulses,
which passes signals causing the attraction to rotate.

3) The Colosseum
The Stadium symbolizes balance and
coordination, both functions maintained
by the cerebellum. The Stadium hosts
fencing, archery, and jousting matches.
These medieval sports depend on those
two functions to perform well. Audience
members will have the opportunity to
take part in these sports as well. The
Stadium can hold up to 300 people.
Audience volunteers must be over 3 or be
assisted by their parents. This allows
patrons to learn that the cerebellum is one
of the important parts of the brain because it allows balance and coordination. Balance and
coordination allows a person to be involved in the participation of a sport with a reasonable
amount of success as it will aid fluid body movement for physical skill performance.

4) The Theater
The Theater symbolizes sight and hearing, both
functions of the Temporal Lobe and Occipital
Lobe. Peoples reaction symbolizes the frontal lobe
because the Theater shows liturgical drama,
mystery plays, morality plays, farces and masques
making people emotional and shocked. For
entrance, tickets are bought up front and there are a

minimum of 4-6 performances/plays per day. The theater looks old due to the
theme and the seats are long rows instead of individual seats, allowing a total of
200 people to fit in the theater. Ratings may vary. This attraction is based 2 of the five senses and
this lets participants explore the many things each lobe enables a person to do.
