Describe what This activity is called Skip Counting. The objective of this
the learning activity will be. lesson is for the student to recognize number 1-100 or 1-300

with the technology). odd numbers. The teacher will begin the lesson by
demonstrating how to find numbers that are multiples of 2, and
add that all numbers that are multiples of 2 are even numbers.
In contract, the teacher will mention that all number that are
not multiples of 2 are odd numbers. He/she will do this by using
the SMART Board charts on slide 4. The teacher will point to a
number on the chart and have the students recite the numbers
aloud with him/her. Everytime a number is a multiple of 2, the
teacher will tap on the number on the chart to highlight it red.
After completing the chart for multiples of 2, the teacher will
reset the chart and do the same activity for numbers 1-100 that
are multiple of 5 and 10. Next, she will designate students to
use the SMART Board to tap on the numbers that are multiples
of 5. The teacher will set the timer for 3 minutes, and the
students must highlight all number 1-100 that are multiples of
5. The teacher can also do this for odd numbers, even
numbers, numbers that are multiples of 2, or numbers that are
multiples of 10. The teacher may also set the timer using the
arrow buttons surrounding the hours, minutes, and seconds
place.
The next few slides allow the students to utlize the SMART
Board to practice dragging numbers that are multiples of 2 into
their respective sequential order. The following slides are the
same concept, but are in multiples of 5. There is a slide that will
ask students a series of multiple-choice questions in which they
must choose the correct number in the sequence.
There are continuing slides to do the same activities for
numbers that are multiples of 10. The last slide in this SMART
Board activity will ask students to read a question and find the
missing numbers. The student will choose the boxes that make
up the number, and will be given a score based on accuracy
and time it took to answer the question correctly. The teacher
can practice this activity with students one-on-one to assess a
students understanding of the lesson, or as a large group and
have students take turns to answer questions.
