Grading System

BTEC HND is assessed and marked on grading basis. The grade

awarded are shown below:

a) Grades:

Referred- RF-Not meeting any or all of the Pass criteria.

Pass-P: - Meeting all the Pass criteria

Merit-M: Meeting all Pass and the Merit criteria

Distinction-D:- Meeting all Pass, Merit and Distinction Criteria

b) The Grading Criteria to obtain a P, M, and D are contained in the Unit

specification document provided to you.


GROUND RULES
I. Attend all classes on time . The College Lateness and attendance
policy applies

II. Keep your mobile phones silence or switch them off .

III. Dont interrupt others whilst contributing in class discussion or


questioning.

IV. Treat your colleagues or others with respect as you would want to
be treated or respected

V. You owe a legal duty of care to everybody in class such that your
actions will not cause any injury/damage whatsoever to them

VI. Dont eat food in class.

Objectives of this Lesson
Evaluate the interrelationship between the different processes and
functions of the organization.
Justify the methodology to be used to map processes to the
organizations goals and objectives.

A strategy is a long term plan by which the aims and objectives are met.

Strategic decisions are usually taken by senior manager, have long term
implications and may affect a whole organisation.
Tactics
Tactics are the shorter term activities that a firm puts in place to
implement its strategy.

Tactical decisions are often made by middle managers.


Operation
A business unit will carry out its functional activities within the strategy
and guided by its short term tactics to be more effective in meeting its
business goals.
