About Dr. Andrew Dutta (Sri Indrajit)

D r.AndrewDuttaispopularlyknowninthefieldofastrologyandamonghisinnumerableclientsas
Sri Indrajit. He was born on 7th September 1975 in Calcutta (now Kolkata) in a family that is
continuingastrologicalpracticeformorethan200years.

Andrews maternal great grandfather was Sri Surendranath Jyotir Vachaspati of Khulna in Bangladesh
who handed down the lineage to Andrews mother, Srimati Deblina, an eminent and illustrious
astrologerofKolkata.Eventhoughhewasinitiatedintothefieldofastrologybyhismother,Andrew
was extensively trained and groomed by Kolkatas famous astrologer Jyotiryogi. Andrew was very
fortunatetobetheonlydiscipleofJyotiryogiwhonotonlygroomedandtrainedAndrewinthefieldof
astrologybutalsotaughthimandsharedwithhimalltheexperientialknowledgethatJyotiryogigained
inhis40yearsofexperience.

While staying in Hyderabad, India from 2002 to 2008, Andrew got an opportunity to be personally
trainedbylateP.V.K.PunneswaraRaoofHyderabadwhohimselfwasthediscipleofthedirectstudent
of K.S. Krishnamurti, late V.B.N. Sarma ji of Warangal, AP. As a result, his knowledge in astrology is
somethingthatgoesmanymilesbeyondthetextbooksandisrichwiththeGuruShishyaParamparaof
Indianculture.

Andrew is one of the all India record holders by scoring 99% in the Indian Secondary Council
Examination,NewDelhi,1994inthepaperStructureofCommerce.HegraduatedfromtheSt.Xaviers
College, Calcutta with a First Class in Accountancy in 1997 and completed his postgraduation in
Business Finance from the University of Calcutta in 1999. Andrew was awarded a Gold Medal by the
UniversityofCalcuttaforacademicexcellenceandrankingFirstinFirstClassintheUniversity.

HecompletedhisMTPfromIIMTin2004inthefieldofHumanResourceManagementandistrainedas
aresearcher.HewasaVisitingResearchScholartoBentleyUniversity,Massachusettsduring20042005,
wherehedevelopedhisPhDthesisinManagement.

Beforejoiningindustryandthenlaterintoacademics,heusedtoprofessionallyconsultinKolkataand
was a strong voice against the rationalists denigrating astrology. Andrews first book Jyotish Shastrer
BiagnanicVitti,writteninBengali,isaverypopularbookamongsttheastrologersandgeneralpublic.
Andrew was awarded the title of Jyotish Bibhakar and Jyotish Vidya Ratna by the Krishnamurti
InstituteOfAstrology,Indiain2001.

TheninJanuary2008,AndrewlaunchedhisfirstvideocourseHomeVideoCourseinEnglish:Birth
TimeRectificationthroughKrishnamurtiPaddhati,whichsoldthousandsofcopiesandisstilloneof
the largest selling KP astrology learning product in the world. Due to heavy demand from his large
followers and learners, Bhagya Ratna Gems and Jewellers, Kolkata launched his second video course
titledProfessionalVideoCoursePracticalApplicationsofRulingPlanetsinKrishnamurtiPaddhati
on September 2012. Due to overwhelming response to such a unique video course, BRGJ Kolkata
launched the complete KP video course in three levels titled Professional Video CourseAccurate
PredictionswithKPAstrologyinMay2013.

Toprovidevoicetomanyunsungastrologyauthors,researchersandpractitioners,Andrewbecamethe
honoraryEditoroftheJournalforAdvancementofStellarAstrology(JASA),whichstartedinJuly2011

Today,Dr.AndrewDutta(SriIndrajit)isoneofthemostrespectednamesinthefieldofIndianastrology
both in India and abroad for truth, knowledge and correct prediction. He has published numerous

Philosophical foundation of KP Prashna

Astrology According to K. S. Krishnamurti

L ateKuthurSubbarayaiyerKrishnamurti(K.S.K.)firstevermentionedabouthissystem
of horary or Prashna astrology in his own magazine Astrology & Athristha in July
1964issueunderthetileHoraryAstrologyorAroodam.Inthisarticle,hesolvedthe
question by taking a number from the querist between 1 to 108. This is the first ever
articlewrittenbyK.S.Krishnamurtionhisownsystemofhoraryastrology.Thenexttwo
articles are found in Astrology & Athristha, October 1965 issue. Thereafter, in various
subsequentissues,K.S.Kstartedpublishinghishoraryarticles,andalsosomeofhisdirect
students and his elder son late K. Ganapathi also published their articles on horary
articles.
On 30th Jan 1966, K.S. Krishnamurti published his 2 volumes of book titled
KrishnamurtiPadhdhatiAdvancedStellarAstrology.Butinthesebooks,onlyinVol.II,
page397,hetalksaboutthefuturepublicationofhisseparateHoraryAstrologybookand
nothing was discussed about the methods or techniques of Prashna astrology. Then in
1970HoraryAstrologywaspublishedbyK.S.Krishnamurti,whichwentontobecalled
asthe6thReaderlateronafterthe5Readerswerepublishedin1971.The1970Horary
Astrology, which is called as the 6th Reader, is the most authoritative text in KP horary
astrologytilldatethatisavailableinpublicdomainanddealswithsolvingKPhorarywith
1249 subdivision number system. However, there is also a lot of literature that is
available from K.S. Krishnamurti, which is found in his own magazine Astrology &
AthrishtaspeaksvolumesaboutK.S.Ksapproachandphilosophyonhoraryastrology.
The philosophy and approach behind KP Prashna astrology has been beautifully
capturedandexplainedbyK.S.K.himselfonpage65and66ofthe1970Edition.Forthe
benefitofreadersasnippetviewisprovidedhere.Interestedreadersareadvisedtobuy

the 6th Reader from the current publishers in Chennai and read it. However, for the
benefit of all KP astrology lovers, a snippet view is provided below as to why K.S.K.
considered his system as more scientific than already prevailing Hindu/Vedic astrology
methods.
