Impact of Globalising the Education sector on National

Employment:
With the level of difficulty in education being reduced and increasing
competition, there is arising the scarcity of jobs for the young people of India.

Earlier were the times when meritorious students used to get selected in
topmost employing firms, be it the private sector or the Government. With the
increasing population, and education becoming global/globalised; the level of
difficulty of attaining even a Doctoral degree has been decreased now a days. If
not this; then the other university will offer the same program may be at less or
more price.

Limited vacancies for huge group of students at topmost firms are leading to the
flourishing trade of coaching centres all across the country.

Globalizing the education sector has made the education easy. Although it was
necessary; but this process has created a tough competition at the higher level.
Seen into the depth, the basic education completes till the age of 18 years of
ones life, and unlike before, increased numbers of students pursue graduation
and higher studies.

As a result less number of people apply for vacancies against lower

qualification like matriculation or intermediate. With increase in qualification, the
demand rises although the vacancies of lower qualification still exist; but not
only are they lower not just because of qualification; but also the grade pay.
Facing the society becomes a problem after attaining high qualification and doing
jobs that pay less.

By MNCs give lucrative offers to freshers but also mention the Bond while
joining ; not only the private firms, but many government organisations have
started doing this. One simple question which arises is- now if a firm is hiring a
candidate with good academic qualifications and making him/her sign a bond;
how is that good to the candidate being hired since the bond period is large and
dont go as par with the salary and the facilities.

With the emerging scope of technical and professional courses, the classic study
courses and subjects were somehow somewhere affected and left behind. But
now, even the so called promising professional courses are making students
pursuing them land nowhere, even the technical course students are suffering.
Unemployment is the direct result of education being becoming globalised. The
next big thing responsible is the hiring process in most of the firms which
demands Experience. From where will a candidate get an Experience if
he/she doesnt have a job? Firms hire less because vacancies are less. The hiring
process/tests are almost same for every job in any firm an aptitude test
followed by interview making student preparing simultaneously for multiple firms
and wasting seats of other candidates some of who are actually deserving and in
need of job, These are the seats which could have been utilized successfully in
the same financial year instead of being shown vacant and filled through exam in
the next fiscal. One must also think that the way many companies hire through a
single entrance exam, how can one common exam judge candidates calibre for
different posts in different fields unless the job is non-technical.

System of Employment Now and Then:

Earlier; vacancies were limited, lesser number of candidates used to appear for
the entrance because lesser reached that level of education because the
education used to be difficult. Now candidates with same eligibility criteria are
more in numbers Government firms raised the minimum eligibility and private
companies started hiring through the famous Referral System. A simple
question which arises is that where will a person with less /average marks and no
references go? Will the person work in some sector like BPO whose experience
will give a negative impact on any of the interview he/she gives further. Now if
the person doesnt shows the work experience, his chances of getting selected
further in any firm reduce again. Will he/she sit at home and study for the same
or different entrance exam for the next year and would again not have
advantage in interview over those who have work experience; or may not get as
good marks as those who go to coaching and he/she could not afford it. I may be
wrong and offending somewhere, because at last the one who deserves it is
actually Worth it. May be the same person now opt for some professional
coaching or course to add value to his her Resume or pursue higher education
from some high fee demanding Foreign University or any such University in his
nation.

One needs Money to earn Money or Money makes Money situation can be
seen in the above cases.

Although many government schemes have been made , launched and

implemented for providing employment to the people but many of them are not
so effective and those effective are mostly for rural areas and not for people with
much higher qualification. If having money, 2-3 such people with higher
education degree join hands to open up a new education/employment hub or
portal. Elaboration will only make the topic more and more widen up ; but to sum
up its just like with increasing universities and rising competition laymen
who needed employment once dont take it as there are very few laymen now.
Idea is not like there should be more laymen, but it focuses that less people are
now interested in lower paying jobs. The solution is not like not providing
education or something like that but making education tough and bringing the
old curriculum back along with the new modern curriculum ( A bit vague But
means just the improvement of education system from curriculum point of
view ). Its just we need to make education tough instead of making competition
tough.

Solutions which may work:

Any one cannot take the charge of so many unemployed youth but everyone
would agree to some facts like decreasing competition by making education
tougher could increase chances of employment although by a little extent.

Some rules can be made that a university once opened has to take charge of
providing employment to every of its successfully graduated candidate .Making
same and equal curriculum for all universities so that everyone is at par with
other candidates. Equalizing the marking and grading system as per the
respective curriculums so that on a nationwide scale same marking system is
adopted even at higher level.

Preferring candidates graduated from our country more than who pursue higher
education from other countries. Reducing the retirement age of workers in firms
so that more vacancies are created often. Sending our students abroad for jobs
which will contribute a part of GDP in our countrys growth itself through Global
Indian MNCs , sending students on scholarships and for teaching our culture and
languages in abroad as the people from other countries do. Fixing education
sectors by proper differentiation into fields , less course shifting to be promoted
at higher levels like students after pursuing graduation from science studying
commerce for better career prospects. Avoid preferring multi-branch specialized
candidates to encourage one to complete education in one particulate field first
before switching to another and creating difficulty for the actual students from
that field and further increasing competition. (Dont know how to express this
particular point, maybe its offending, But, I am Sorry for that). Increasing pays
for lower posts too, encouraging people to opt for them. Providing foreign
languages at schools from the primary level so that students have command on
multiple languages and can seek better opportunity in finding jobs outside India.

These were just some ways in my- a laymans opinion. May be not arranged
properly , not written properly but the Education system and Employment are
the two opposite sides of a see-saw , one side moving up makes other fall down ,
thus a balance is required between the two and that too in proper level. That
could be done only by taking all aspects together at once implementing one
policy, program or scheme by studying its pros and cons and how will it change
the employment conditions in nation because, Unemployment is again related to
Poverty the two rising concerns to be taken care of in the country.
