Student Technology Fee - The Louisiana State Legislature approved this self-assessed student fee in 1997. The proceeds are for "implementing, replacing, improving and expanding technologies to benefit student
life and learning. For the purposes of this fee "technologies" include, but is not limited to instructional and laboratory equipment and the networking and supporting computers and telecommunications infrastructure
necessary to support these activities.
Academic Excellence Fee - House Bill 1786 imposed a fee to promote academic excellence by enhancing instructional programs. The purpose of this fee includes upgrading and modernizing existing labs and
classrooms, hiring additional faculty, increasing faculty salaries and covering the cost of SACS and other academic program accreditation requirements.
