2. Mini whiteboard and marker for each of the team
3. Question bank. Come for several worksheets.
4. Pair Up the Students (Strong and Struggling Students)
5. Tournament bracket. Assume that there will be 20 students in a class, therefore there will
10 groups.

10 Beginning the Lesson


mins 1. Preparation and Instruction:
a. Preparations:
Teacher will show the students their groupmate and the seating arrangement.
Students need to take their mini whiteboard and marker and sit on their desk with their
group-mate based on their group number.
Teacher will give each team some scrap papers to count.
Teacher will show the tournament bracket and the group that is going to compete for the
first elimination, need to sit on the desk that the teacher has prepared, just like a game
show.
b. Instruction:
The tournament will going on like how the tournament bracket has shown,

Every elimination round will be divide into 3 round.


1. Answer or Pass: Each group will take turn get a question. Each questions worth 2 points.
They can choose to either answer it or pass it to their opponent. If they pass it and the
opponent answer it right, the opponent will get 2 points. But if the opponent answer it
wrong, this team will get 1 point.
2. Draw it!: Each group need to answer or solve the question by using fraction diagram.
3. Fly Swatter. Teacher will show their questions. Teacher will show all of the answers on
the whiteboard. Then student need to decide who will be the swatter and who will just
stay at the desk. When they have found the answer They should swat the answer on the
board, using the fly swatter.
Developing the Lesson
Teacher will use this pattern for our math tournament on each of the elimination rounds
and final
1. First Round: Answer or Pass
2. Second Round: Draw It
3. Third Round: Fly Swatter
(Question bank will be taken from worksheets.)
