This is an area of strength for Hannah. Her lesson planning skills have been high-quality and consistent from the
beginning of student teaching. She has put in the hard work to write student-centered and thoughtful lessons. These set
the foundation for effective instruction. She consistently plans for all elements of instruction including assessment and
differentiation of instruction. To earn an exemplary, she may want to point out some of the creative and innovative ideas
she has planned for her students.

Hannah has learned some excellent reading strategies during her first student teaching placement (ie. study sort,
chunk, chunk-blend, high frequency sentences, and concrete learning strategies for lower-level students). She provided
effective instruction, redirection, and kept students on target for learning. It may seem contrary that I rated "differentiates
instruction" in this section as exemplary, even though I rated a similar item in the previous section as superior. In this
case, I have observed her use excellent differentiation strategies in an exemplary way, but were a resource provided by
the reading specialist rather than being created by Hannah. Exceptional use of the resource.

Hannah has consistently met this standard during her first placement. She used student learning data to form small-
groups for reading instruction.

Hannah provides a "no-nonsense" classroom management style. She is adept at redirecting students in a positive way,
telling them what she wants the "to do" rather than what she doesn't want them to do. She is firm but fair.

Hannah is a fine young educator. She has the highest ethical values and integrity. She strives for excellence in all that
she does. She will grow in confidence as a junior member of our profession and realize that she has a great deal to give
