FOCUS OF LESSON: Practicing bowling skills
STUDENT PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES (SPO):
By the end of the lesson, students should be able to:

(P) Work together efficiently as a team during relay while still using the 3 step approach ( MA
CF 2.2)
(C Come up with a strategy to be the fastest team to knock down all the pins before the other
teams ( MA CF 2.1)
(A) Create a positive and safe environment for other students throughout the entire lesson and
unit (MA CF 2.7)

Check each objective: Is it specific? Is it achievable? Is it developmentally appropriate?

TEACHER PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES - During the lesson the teacher will:


1. Identify and reinforce all safety for bowling throughout the lesson.
2. Give students at least 3 different motivational objectives throughout the lesson to improve
overall effort.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS - What are the safety concerns? What is unique about the
students in this class?
Students will be practicing bowling, which can be dangerous if students do not follow safety
guidelines. Will place a mat behind each set of pins so that the bowling balls dont hit the wall
and so it is safer for the students. Move groups and separate students who dont work well
together.

The Approach:
Students will start with

To bowl:
-Step with foot opposite of
rolling hand
-On next step, rolling arm
comes straight down and
back by side
-On last step, squat as
swinging ball forward to
release ball by ground
-Follow through with
palm up as arm continues
moving up and inline with
the pins

Warm up Practice:
Students will be in groups
of 4 to a lane. Each group
18-23 will have 3 pins set up and
students will take turns For practice, we had all 10
