To Whom It May Concern:

It is with pleasure that I write this letter of recommendation for Bailey ODell, a former student in my
Educational Psychology and Educational Foundation courses at Leeward Community College.
Throughout the years that I have known Bailey, she has demonstrated excellent academic and
interpersonal skills that I feel represent the whole package of what we look for in a future educator.

Bailey is a natural teacher. She is caring, patient, positive, welcoming, and is passionate about finding
strategies to get across concepts to those she is teaching. She has the ability to make folks that she is
teaching, whether children or adults, feel at ease with her calm demeanor, and I always observed her
encouraging and praising her classmates for their work. The several lessons that I have received from her
were always well-prepared, with clear and measurable learning outcomes, appropriate assessments, and
instructional activities that focused on the students rather than the teacher. When she presented anything
in class, she was highly articulate, thoughtful, and treated her peers with respect and kindness when
addressing them. She participated in every activity with enthusiasm and warmth, and she will serve as a
wonderful model for her future elementary students on how to interact and work with each other.

Bailey is also a consummate professional and is passionate about education and learning. Her greatest
strength is the positive and supportive attitude she shows for her colleagues and her students. She wants
everyone to feel part of the team and so she treats everyone like they are part of her family. From my own
observation of her interacting with others in class and through her assignments, I can attest that she has
those qualities. Her responses to her classmates are always open-minded and she offers her thoughtful
opinion in a professional and encouraging manner. She is also a resilient and a driven life-long learner
and is completely focused on becoming the best teacher she can be. It would not be surprising if she
continues her studies to earn a Masters degree or seeks to become a nationally-certified teacher. In my
opinion, Baileys desire to improve and excel is one of the most important indicators in new teachers to
determine who will eventually develop into an effective and successful educator.

I have no doubt that whatever school community gets lucky enough to have Bailey as part of their
learning community they will be forever changed for the better. I highly recommend Bailey ODell for
any teaching position that she is seeking.

Sincerely,

Jeffrey S. Judd, PhD
