Planet: Philippines
Philippines is truly a gift from God, it embodies the
richness and abundance of natural resources, wildlife and
many more. It is amazing that my country is considered a
mega biodiversity and it something to b proud of. We have
animals that can only be seen here in the Philippines, Old
growth forests with century-old trees serve as habitats to unique and endangered wildlife,
and seas that have undisputable marine life and biodiversity. Places that are not yet
discovered or is well preserved are most beautiful and showcase the real beauty of what
our country have. I wanna live there even just for once, i want to experience what its like
to drink water from clear and clean rivers, bathe in the falls, sleep in treetops and caves
and play with animals. Living underwater would be very nice, exploring the countrys
marine life like, the coral reefs, swimming with fishes and other sea creatures and going
to the deepest parts of the waters would be satisfying, in other words, i want to be a
mermaid even just for a day.
Danger is extremely inevitable, knowing that there are endangered animals due to
decreasing habitats, hunting, and wildlife trade, it saddens me as a Filipino because we
are one of the responsible factors that let this to happen.
Signos
Climate Change, Global Warming, Abnormal weather and
etc., are only some of the words that are frequently heard
when we talked about the weather and phenomena we experience
nowadays. Having watched the documentary and seeing how
different devastations affected the environment isnt new to
me. I am fully aware of how it slowly consumes the life
present in the surface of the earth. Sadly, we, the
inhabitants of the earth are the ones to blame for this, we
cut trees that helps in minimizing the impact of floods, we
destroy forests that holds the soil in the mountains, we use
products that contributes to global warming like, aerosol
sprays that contains chlorofluorocarbons that makes earth
hotter.
Terrible typhoons, devastating earthquakes, killer
tsunamis, longer droughts and stronger hurricanes are some
of the indications that are situation right now is largely
different from before, i mean, theyre not that strong in
terms of intensity and power to destroy unlike now that each
of them are twice or thrice stronger. The typhoon Yolanda is
the most terrible ever experienced, and i myself experienced
it. I feared that time the typhoon is lashing, my father
wasnt around that time because he was in full alert given
that hes a policeman. Were all girls left in the house, my
mother and two siblings, the winds is so strong that i
personally saw trees being uprooted by them, flying roofs
and different things that the winds could lift. Luckily our
house cannot be easily destroyed because its concrete and
the roofs are securely intact, but still, winds try to enter
the house even in the tiniest hole. Flood came rushing in
during and after the heavy rain, and i could say that it got
higher than the flood Ive seen before. This is a clear
manifestation of that sea level rises and it is very
alarming.
