Summary and Reflection on Time Management: essential tool for teaching and learning

improvement in challenging resource period in Nigeria

This article talks about specific areas time management, but it works in every area.

They have given some specific area of time management, where they have teach important

tool for teaching and learning. There are more than seven tools which are importance of time

management; time is an indispensable element, time management is used for educational

system analysis, used for planning school activities, used for organizing school activities,

used for implementing school activities, and used for evaluating school activities, etc.

According to this article A chaotic school environment is unsafe for proper teaching

and learning (Chima Sebastine Ugwulashi pg.67). This article even given a clear example of

bad school environment, because a school who is confuse with everything, how can the

students of the school can learn or teacher can teach. A school who is confuse with everything

cannot be safe for teacher and learner. Making time table is very effective way of time

management, because when we make time table for work, then we can be always aware of

things what we have to do.

Organization of time in activities or events is very important, because when we

organize the time, then we know how much time we are spending in particular things which

we have organized. If we want to make good time management in any area then we should be

flexible, we have to learn the balancing time. Adopting good time management approach in

resource application is an appropriate method in efficient and effective utilization and

monitoring of resources for corporate goals achievement (Chima Sebastine Ugwulashi pg.

61). If you are putting our expectation to get good achievement, then we have to adopt time

management, because how we manage the time determine what we will get in the future.

In conclusion, a teacher should be always aware of time management, because teacher

should be conscious of their students achievement. When a teacher consider for time, and

make good responsibility in making time management, then teacher can deliver the lesson or

the content to student.

Reflection/Application

I am totally agree with this article, because this article has taught about both good and

bad example of school time management. When a school is confuse with everything, how

that school can provide good lesson with effective time. I dont think a school who even

doesnt know which direction heading will have the good time management.

Every school should have effective time management, if a school or teacher wants to

see good result. Teacher have to be aware of time management every second in school,

because every second is valuable for the students. Teacher should organize the time, teacher

should make time table about what to do and when to do, and when it should be finish.

During my two weeks of teaching practicum, I felt very bad sign of time management,

because most of the time I couldnt finish my lesson on time. I couldnt become a model of

good time management teacher, but I have learn to manage the time from my cooperating

teacher and from other teacher as well.

According to the bible , Ephesians 5:15-16 Look carefully then how

you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time,

because the days are evil. The bible has clearly mention that, we have to

be careful with what we are doing and what we are doing. And we have to

use time carefully, because time is valuable and it should use only in

effective way.
