What will the teacher do?
1. Teacher will gather and divide children
into a small group by the classroom
meeting area.
2. Teacher will start classroom discussion by
allowing each student to share what they
learned or liked on their field trip to the
apple orchard.
3. Teacher will instruct students to get up
and get their journals then go to the table.
4. Teacher will instruct students to open to
the first blank page of their journal.
5. Teacher will ask students to express what
they learned or liked about their field trip
to the apple orchard through drawing or
writing.
6. Teacher will instruct students to finish up
and put their journals away after adequate
time has passed for them to express what
they learned or liked about their field trip
to the apple orchard.
Learning Tasks
What will the children do?
1. Children will gather on the rug for a small
group activity.

Modifications:
For journaling, teachers and students can switch off writing in the journal or the student
who needs modifications can focus on drawing in their journals rather than writing. You
can have the student write one sentence as best as they can but also draw a picture. This
way they are still having to practice writing, but arent forced to do too much.
