VRP/Software Upgrade Procedure on the switch/Router

STEP 1 : Enable FTP server on the switch/Router

[Quidway]ftp server enable

STEP 2 : Create FTP user on the switch/Router and provide full access to the user

[Quidway]aaa

[Quidway-aaa]local-user admin password simple admin

[Quidway-aaa]local-user admin service-type ftp telnet http

[Quidway-aaa]local-user admin ftp-directory flash:/

[Quidway-aaa]local-user admin privilege level 15

STEP 3 : Download the software/VRP on the PC and upload it on the Switch/Router

Activities to done on PC:

Open CMD prompt

Path in CMD should be where VRP/Software is placed.

Here in this example , VRP is placed in E: drive

##### Change the path as per your requirement

Here in this example , 10.1.1.1 is the IP address of the switch/Router , change it as

per your requirment.

E:\>ftp 10.1.1.1 ##### Set IP address of the FTP switch.

User (10.1.1.1:(none)): admin ##### Enter the user name, that is, admin
Password: ##### Enter the password, that is, admin
230 User logged in.

ftp>bin ##### Run the bin command to transmit files in binary mode.

ftp>hash

ftp>put S5700HI-V100R006C01SPC112T.cc
##### Upload the system software from the PC to the device.
NOTE: Change the File name as per your requirement

STEP 4 : Set the Startup file on the switch/Router for Next Bootup

<Quidway>startup system-software flash:/S5700HI-V100R006C01SPC112T.cc

NOTE:Change the File name as per your requirement

Check the startup file.

<Quidway>display startup
NOTE : Check whether the path of the startup file is the same as the configured
one.

STEP 5 : Save the configuration on the switch/Router

<Quidway>Save

 Document Title Security Level

Press "Y" if prompted for saving the configuration.

STEP 6 : REBOOT the switch/Router

<Quidway>reboot

STEP 7 : Check for the New Version

<Quidway>display version
