1 What is the greatest possible number of weekend days in a calendar year?

2 There are three cars in the RSM garage: a Rolls Royce, a Studebaker, and a
Maserati. One of these cars is half as expensive as another one. One of these
cars is 3 times as expensive as another one. The Rolls Royce is X times as
expensive as the Maserati. How many different values can X have? (Each car's
cost is positive.)

3 In the RSM Olympiad, each participant gets a whole number of points, and
the highest possible score is 12 points. If the average score of the top 8
winners of the RSM Olympiad was 10.5, at most how many of them could
have scored less than 9 points each?

4 If p = 1+ 12 + 14 + 18 + 16
1 + 1 and q = 1+

p, compute 1024(q p).

5 How many different 100-letter words (sequences containing only the letters
R, S, and M) are there if in each word any two letters that are next to each
other are different, and any two letters with exactly one letter between them
are different too?

6 The perimeter of an isosceles triangle equals 2015. If one of the sides was
made twice as long as it was, another side was made half as long as it was,
and the remaining side was unchanged, the new triangle would also be
isosceles. What is the length of the shortest side of this new triangle?

7 A teacher wrote a positive integer X on a board. Each of eight RSM students
correctly divided X by one of the eight positive factors of the number 2015
(each student used a different factor), using remainders if needed. When the
students added up all the remainders, they got 121. What is the smallest
possible value of X ?

8 Rick, Sol, and Mike had R, S, and M apples respectively, where R, S, and
M are natural numbers. Rick gave 1 apple to Sol, then Sol gave 2 apples to
Mike, then Mike gave 3 apples to Rick, then Rick gave 4 apples to Sol, and
so on. The process continued until Rick gave 100 apples to Sol. At that point
the largest difference between the numbers of apples that the boys had was
1. If X is the largest difference between R, S, and M, compute the sum of all
possible different values of X.

At the new RSM Brooklyn branch, 58% of the students are girls, 80% of the
teachers are women, and 60% of all students and teachers are female. What
is the ratio of the number of students to the number of teachers at RSM
Brooklyn? (None of the RSM Brooklyn students is also a teacher.)

10 A rectangle is divided into three smaller non-overlapping rectangles. At least

two of these four rectangles have sides 20 feet long, at least two of these four
rectangles have sides 15 feet long, and at least two of these four rectangles
have sides 2015 feet long. What is the smallest possible area (in square feet)
of the original rectangle?

11 Say that a positive integer is a square-square-free if it is not a multiple of a

square of a square of a prime number. For instance, 2015 is square-square-
free, but 2016 is not. How many square-square-free positive integers less
than 2015 are there? (Note that square-square-free numbers are also known
as fourth-power-free.)

12 Train B runs from Boston to Chicago at a constant speed. Train C runs

from Chicago to Boston at a constant speed. Both trains depart from their
corresponding stations at the same time and follow the same path as shown
in the diagram. If train B runs twice as fast as usual and train C runs half as
fast as usual, they meet in 12 hours. If train C runs twice as fast as usual and
train B runs half as fast as usual, they meet in 15 hours. In how many hours
would the trains meet if both of them run 13 as fast as usual?
