superiority still rages on. With Marvels acquisition by The Walt Disney Company in 2009 a
lot has changed. Lets talk less about the money and focus on the Iron Fist. Danny Rand( the
Iron Fist), the brainchild of Roy Thomas and Gil Kane, first joined the world in 1974. His chief
weapons are his martial arts, powerful force (Iron Fist) and his billionaire status at the Rand
industries. He spends his days fighting none other than the evil organisation called the hand
or some other dark force depending on the storyline at play.It sort of reminds you of the
legendary Batman but with a far more interesting twist.Kudos Marvel!

In the comics, Danny Rand was the son of Wendell Rand, the adopted heir to Lord Tuan(the
ruler of Kun Lun). Kun Lun is an other-worldly city whose nexus opened in the Himalayas
every ten years to allow movement between itself and Earth. Wendell became the heir by
saving Lor Tuans life. While showing the Nexus to his wife Shakari, Yu-Ti(Lord Tuans
resentful son) sent his men to attack Rand Senior in the hope that he would then become
the heir. Shakari was killed in the process. In grief, Wendell left Kun Lun and became a
successful businessman in New York with the help of his business partner Harold Meachum.
He then married Heather Duncan and sired Danny Rand. On a trip to see the Himalayas and
possibly the Nexus, the Rand family was met by a series of unfortunate events. Wendell fell
off a cliff. Harold, driven by greed chose not to help him as he hung from the edge and
instead let him fall to his death. Heather was killed by a pack of wolves to save
Danny.Danny, now an orphan, was taken under the tutelage of Lei Kung, a legendary master
banished from Kun Lun. Danny becomes strong to enough to slay the Shou- Lao and gain
the power of the legendary Iron Fist; a feat no one had been able to achieve. The envy and
conspiracies that plagued Kun Lun drove Danny out of Kun Lun and into New York where
he sought vengeance for his fathers death. In the process, he saw himself fight the likes of,
Hydra, the Cult Of Kara-Kai, War Hawk, and Dhasha khan. With the help of Colleen Wing,
he freed Luke Cage from Bushmasters hold and formed Heroes For Hire. He went on to
work with Daredevil, Avengers, Dr.Strange, Nanor, the Silver Surfer and The Red She-Hulk.

In the tv series, Marvel and Netflix collaborate to make a story that leads up to The
Defenders. This will see The Daredevil, Jessica Rhodes, Luke Cage and the Iron fist working
together in their efforts to fight crime and bring justice to New York. The storyline shifts a bit
and sees Dannys parents die in a plane crash on their way to Kun Lun. Here, Danny finds
himself pitted against the Hand rather than Harold. The First 13 Episodes offer some
fantastic action-packed scenes that will keep you glued to your screen.
