Ultimate Football
Reflection from prior lesson: In the lesson before, the students learned the basic rules of ultimate football and
worked on throwing and catching the football.
SD PE Content Standards
Standard 1: The physically literate individual demonstrates proficiency in a variety of motor skills and
movement patterns.
Standard 3: Students will participate in physical activity to achieve and maintain a health enhancing level
of physical fitness.
Standard 5: Students will understand that physical activity provides opportunities for enjoyment,
challenge, self-expression, social interaction, and employment.
Materials Needed: The primary facility for ultimate football will be in a gymnasium. The boundaries will be set by
cones and lines on the gym floor. We will need footballs and cones for this unit.
Contextual Factors/ Learner Characteristics: Students have different learning styles, therefore not every student can
be taught in the same way. I will get to know my students to learn their characteristics and find out what motivates
them and how to manage them in the classroom.
The Lesson
1. Introduction (10 min)
Getting attention
Students will have five minutes to get dressed and stand in a designated area in the gym, while waiting for
instructions.
4. Closure (3 min)
Quiz the students on what they learned to today
Dismiss the students and let them get changed
