Race also impacts certain conversations and determines how certain characters respond to you. Both race and gender have an impact on what romances are available to your characte. Before choosing. class, consider referencing the Clases and Abilities chapter to better understand the differences between the rogue, wartior, and mage. During the opening cinematic you're prompted to choose your character's appearance. There are five heads to choose from, and each canbe further customized. When a passive ability is learned, always in play and does not need to he mapped or activated. Some passive abilities also offer permanent bonus attributes when unlocked Characters earn one ability point each time they level up. You can o lylearn abilies ‘connected to the root ofthe ability tee or connected to an ability you've already learned. When possible, equip rae items on your characters, because they're often enchanted with runes, giving them stat buffs. Throughout your adventure you're likely to uncover code entries providing detailed information on different subjects, Codex entries can be retrived manually by interacting with notes or other documents. They can also be retrieved automatically when a topic arises in conversation or whenever you encounter an enemy or character forthe first time. Demons, Creatures, and hostile forces attack with minimal provocation, calling ‘on youtto defend yourself and your allies, There are two different ‘ways to approach combat in Dragon Age: Inquisition. You can ether play the game third-person, like an action RPG, or you can takea more tactical approach through the use of the tactical camera, There {sno right or wrong way todo this—itall comes down to personal preference When playingin the third-person perspective, face your intended target and then press and hold the attack button or key. Alternatively youcan lock on toa target tokeep it centered in the camera view. Initiating basic atacks causes your character to unleash a series of slashes, arrows, or elemental p rely on your character's offensive active abilities to pour on even Leaping Shot, and Evade ae defensive, preventing your character (and sometimes thee stamina, mana, of focus, and as such cannot bea jore damage.
