Parent Volunteer Proposal

Dear Mdm Sharida Batcha Sahib,

We are very keen to be part of your team of Parent Volunteers to better understand and appreciate the
culture of South View Primary School (SVPS), and to get involved in our child's educational journey in the
school. We strongly believe that involving ourselves in the school activities would raise our appreciation of
the school's ethos and help to assimilate our child into SVPS.

Please find below a list of unique skill sets that we acquired over a long career, and from our personal
interests. We believe that these skill sets would be of relevance to the school.

1. Professional videography and editing (Adobe Premiere Elements)

2. Cyber security appreciation via collectable cards system
3. Compliance check against the Government Instruction Manuals on IT Management (IM8)
4. Moving and delivery services using a big sized MPV

Created professional wedding montages and short films to reminisce
holiday experience.
Won 2nd place for IDA's Out-of-the-Box Innovation Competition 2010,
and surfaced to parent Ministry for funding to execute the project.
Collectable cards system to impart learning though game play to raise
children's awareness of cyber security so as to prevent falling prey to
malware and people with malicious intent (Refer to Annex A for
presentation slides).
IM8 is a set of mandatory ICT requirements for government agencies
(including MOE and Schools) to ensure good ICT governance and
controls for the public sector.
Policy developer for the following policies
1) Policy on Data Management
- Governance, protection, sharing and storage of data and
electronic records.
2) Policy on Electronic Public Services
- User centric design, content/language and impartiality for
websites and e-services.
3) Web Interface Standards
- Design of websites and e-services to ease navigation and
information retrieval, and ensure consistent, intuitive and smooth
online experience across government websites.
Provision of IM8 training and compliance check.
Provision of transport services using a big sized MPV that could be
configured for transportation of bulky items and passengers (Refer to
Annex B for pictures of the MPV).

We are also willing to participate in any other activities not mentioned above (e.g. chaperones), that are
of use to the school in any way. Please also refer to the elaboration of our work experience and
achievements in Annex C.

We believe that our involvement in the school's activities is of utmost priority, and are backed by strong
paternal and maternal support thus ensuring resource harmony with family commitments. Furthermore,
our companies allow flexible work timings and telecommuting arrangements.
