8 Bit
The 8 bit files contain information coded in one byte. Each point can have a value between 0
and 256.

The 8 bit files handled by ICS Map Server have the following extensions :

FILES INDEX
- IC1 : generic extension for ICS Map Server image files
- IMG : generic extension for ATDI softwares and ICS Map Server image files
- SOL : generic extension for ICS Map Server Ground Occupancy files

16 Bit
The 16 bit files contain information coded in two bytes. Each point can have 65 536 different
values.

The 16 bit files handled by ICS Map Server have the following extensions :
- GEO : generic extension for ATDI and ICS Map Server altimetric files
- IC2 : generic extension for ICS Map Server altimetric files

.BMP : BITMAP 24 bits and BITMAP 256c files. Printing file formats.

.TXT : Ascii text file

. TGA : The TARGA True Vision 16 bit file format is used to import and export data files
from ICS Map Server to other packages such as printer driver programs and the output from
scanners. This format has been selected because it is widely used in many packages and is
also standard with most scanners and colour printers.
