08/19/2016 Learned about new grading
criteria for 7th grade (grading
vs. scoring). Also introduced
to the grade book.
Administration introduced
new faculty, and discussed
policies that would continue
to be implemented in the
school.
08/19/2016 Administration and Behavior
Staff at the school discussed
new protocols and policies
that will continue this school
year to better the students
and keep the school safe.
08/17/2016 Speaker spoke to educators
about his experience in
school, teachers that were
great, and not so great. Also
behavioral tactics he believes
in.
At Ridgely Middle, teachers
sign up for one day, and one
mod they would be able to
cover a classroom. Ms.
Harget was chosen to cover
an 8th grade Chinese class.
We handed out the
worksheets and spoke with
students about what they
were learning as they
completed the assigned work.
09/07/2016 Teachers meet the parents,
parents are introduced to
teachers and their students
classrooms. Also policies that
 will take place in the
classroom this year. This is
also a time for parents
questions to the teacher.
Substitute Teacher 09/13/2016 There was a substitute
teacher for Ms. Harget on
one of the days of my
teaching. I assisted the sub in
teaching and answering
students questions.
Fire Drill 09/15/2016 The fire drill occurred during
Mod 1. We briefly talked over
the procedure for a fire drill,
and our expectations for the
students.
Lunch Coverage 09/23/2016 Ms. Harget has lunch coverage
every Friday. After this, I have
gone a few other times as well.
During lunch, teachers are to
walk around the cafeteria
monitoring noise level and
behavioral issues. Ridgely also
has teachers dismiss students
table by table.
Lock Down and Earthquake 10/20/2016 This drill was very important
Drill for me to know the expectations
for a teacher. It is the teachers
job to move the students into a
safe spot in the classroom to
ensure complete student safety.
It was also significant to know
what needs to be done with the
doors in an emergency.
