Learning Outcomes:
A. Introduction
This unit of competency deals with the skills and knowledge required to provide specialist valet/services in a commercial
accommodation establishment. This role would be generally undertaken by experienced staff members with sound
organizational and interpersonal skills.
B. Learning Activities
Written Test
Basic contact lists and details, and basic customer preference profiles
Communication phrases of valet service provider with guest
Procedures in unpacking, storing and packing of guest luggage
Procedures in pressing and presenting guests clothes ready for use
Identify cleaning materials and supplies appropriate for shoes based on material of shoes
Cleaning and preparing guests shoes
Basic darning and mending for clothing and linen and repair of other accessories
Protocols for ensuring optimum privacy and confidentiality for all guests
Actual Demonstration/Interview
Pressing and Presenting Guest Clothes
Cleaning and Preparing Guest Shoes
Darning and Mending Clothes and Linen
The use of Competency-Based Learning Material provides sufficiency of learning content, appropriateness of
learning and evaluation methodology and aids in a well maintained training facility. It enhances the capacity of the
trainer to facilitate the training.
