School is placed in an upper class suburban neighborhood; student demographics are

predominantly Caucasian with a substantial Asian, Indian & African American minority. Staff is
also predominantly white female identifying with the exception of two male teachers on staff.

INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS

Rachelle has built substantial relationships with the students in the

classroom. She takes a genuine interest in their lives outside of school
including sports they play, hobbies, and their home lives. Rachelle has a very
outgoing personality and is not shy to ask for clarification or direction on
something if she needs it from other staff or principal in the building.

CLASSROOM CLIMATE AND MANAGEMENT

Rachelle has excellent management skills and incorporates a variety

of different techniques and ideas for classroom management. She uses a
variety of approaches for positive incentives and negative consequences
when appropriate. Rachelle uses successful individual, small group, and
whole class management approaches.

INSTRUCTIONAL PLANNING AND IMPLEMENTATION

Rachelle does an exceptional job at implementing and teaching

lessons. She is organized and well prepared and when she delivers the
lessons, she is engaging, enthusiastic, and tries hard to relate subject matter
to kids lives to make it meaningful to them.

INSTRUCTIONAL PLANNING AND INCORPORATION OF TECHNOLOGY TO ENHANCE

STUDENT LEARNING

Rachelle has used a variety of technology to enhance student learning

including, preparing smartboard lessons, incorporating research projects
into Google Docs and Google Slides, conferencing with students writing using
google drive, and having the kids frequently use laptops for research
(teaching them validity of websites, as well).

EVALUATION

I would confidently recommend Rachelle for a teaching position and

overall give her a 4 / 4 rating for student teaching. She not only fulfilled her
role as a student teacher excellently, she went above and beyond the
expectation by creating and facilitating a school newspaper club with 4th and
5th grade students every week. Rachelle was articulate when communicating
with parents. She was engaging when teaching and had thorough background
knowledge of the content she was teaching. In addition, she had exceptional
management skills and built a relationship of trust with the students.


COMMAND OF SUBJECT MATTER

Rachelle is very intelligent and had a comprehensive background of
content and subjects before teaching. She exceled with teaching her major
areas of study (Social Studies and Language Arts). She was very strong at
teaching the other areas of instruction too and if she was not clear of
something or needed clarification, she would not hesitate to seek
understanding before teaching lessons to students.

PROFESSIONAL QUALITIES
Rachelle genuinely is passionate about teaching and her students. She
has built strong relationships with her students, principal, and other staff
members in the building. She is enthusiastic and engaging when presenting
lessons. Rachelle is very reflective and open to constructive feedback. She is
very knowledgeable and organized as a teacher. In addition, she has strong
management skills, and has high expectations of her students. Further,
Rachelle goes above and beyond inside and outside of the classroom by
committing and taking on extra-curricular clubs and activities. For example,
she started a school newspaper club and devotes much of her free time to
working with students outside of the school day. I would highly
recommend/endorse Rachelle Kurrle as a teacher.
