Concept Report

LEVEL-22 serving floors from LEVEL-18 to LEVEL-28.

20 numbers of condensing units are kept at gym roof floor serving floors from
LEVEL 28 to LEVEL 30.

3.3.2 Fresh Air Treatment Units shall be installed ( on Roof floors). Treated Fresh
Air shall be ducted via risers and discharged in ceiling void of each
flat/corridor and flat behind the FCUs.

All floor toilets, pantries and kitchens shall be ventilated. Total extracted air
shall be ducted to roof floor and connected to the heat recovery system.

3.3.3 Heat recovery thermal wheel shall be provided within FAHUs on the roof to
recover the possible sensible and latent cooling from the extracted air and

Concept Report

The life expectancy of the plant and equipment used shall be in accordance with
CIBSE, ASHRAE, BS 7543 or other recognized International Standards, with an
expected life in the order of 2530 years, subject to existing economical availability

Minimized operating costs, by utilizing local environmental building design, top

industrial insulation levels, efficient engineering plant and systems, appropriate
zoning, effective control systems based on established algorithm standards,
selection of the most cost effective fuels and heat recovery systems

Minimized space utilization for plant and equipment and distribution, by planning the
most appropriate location for plant, co-ordination with structure (for optimizing
ceiling heights) and providing efficient distribution systems. All systems will be fully
accessible for a safe service environment.

The systems proposed should comply with the following recognized international
Industry standards:

CIBSE
ASHRAE
NFPA (Life Safety Systems)

Notes with the Table

Note 1 20AC/Hr or sized to dissipate heat and moisture from equipment if

details are available.

Note 2 Air change rate shall depend on kitchen equipment heat output and on
extract volume from canopies. A minimum face velocity must be
provided to each canopy, refer to the kitchen section of this document.

Note 7 Toilet extract to be sized on 10AC/Hr, with make-up air via the toilet
lobby, supplied from the nearest supply air system.
Note 8 Ventilation to these areas to be designed to maintain internal air
temperature below 25C/77F for 95% of the year, if possible without a
cooling system. If a cooling system is required, the internal design
temperature shall be 24C/75F.

Note 9 Ventilation rates to be based on 8-12 l/s per guest, final figure to balance
the exhaust rate. All supply air will be direct supplied to room.

Note 10 Extract volume from bathroom shall be greater or equal to the supply air
volume to the room and a minimum of 6AC/Hr.

BH.NS Engineering Consultant 9

Concept Report

Note 11 Ventilation rates to be selected to achieve the maximum summer

temperature requirement. Fans to be controlled from a local thermostat.
Natural ventilation is an acceptable alternative if suitable control can be
demonstrated.
Note 12 The fresh air quantities indicated for public spaces are the maximum
allowed for calculations and equipment selection but no less then
25CFM per person for occupancy design load. The actual fresh air
quantity is to be controlled via air quality sensors, to maintain a
maximum CO2 level in the occupied space of 600 ppm with graphical
display on building automation system.

Note 13 Opening windows may be an acceptable alternative to mechanical

ventilation in temperate climates. Exhaust systems shall be provided for
processes such as welding, carpentry and painting.
