Foreword

The George C. Yount Pioneer Cemetery in the

little town of Yountville may look a little
rough around the edges, but it truly is a
precious gem and treasure trove of Napa
Valley history. The cemetery would never
have reached this status without the passion
and dedication of this books author, Denise
Ratterman Jackson - a Yountville local, history
buff, and overall extraordinary woman. This
book brings a light to the interesting past of
Wine Country residents that seemed to have
been lost and buried with those in the
cemetery.

The pages detail the life and death of each U.S. Veteran buried at the George C. Yount Cemetery.

Also included is a map of the grounds and a guide with which to find specific burial sites should
you have the desire to find a long-lost relative or loved one. The information that this book has
surfaced is invaluable to the history of Napa Valley, and the roles that its residents had in wars
dating back centuries. Most importantly and what I am most proud of this history can now be
easily preserved, accessed, and appreciated by generations to come.

Introduction
When writing my first George C. Yount
Cemetery book with a map and directory of
all those who are buried, there were four
ways in which I knew the individual was a
Veteran:

1. The inscription told me so.

2. There was a small metal pole for a flag.
3. An old cemetery ledger indicated they
were veterans.
4. Josh and Lance Heide provided a list.
(They have been placing flags on the
George C. Yount Pioneer Cemetery
Veteran grave sites for many years.)

When the Napa County Library historical

archives were released, I researched the
Veterans obituaries, and found evidence
that not all were veterans, and not all had an obituary that could be found without more extensive
research.

I have since learned that the metal pole on item#2 above can indicate either: a) a Veteran; b) a
Mason; or c) a person honored for another reason.

In this, my third George C. Yount Cemetery Book, I am also using the Napa County Library
Historical Newspaper Archives.

Obituary or Article:

Renowned Napa Valley grape-grower Nathan Fay died at his home Wednesday, Feb. 14. at the age of 86. He had
struggled with Parkinsons disease for many years.
The Oakland native gained fame among his peers for taking the risk of planting the first cabernet sauvignon
grapes in the Stags Leap District, a region many in the industry in the early 1960s felt was too cool for what is
today one of the appellations prized grape varieties.
In planting those initial 15 acres of vines, Nathan Fay laid the groundwork for what the Stags Leap winegrowing
district has become today.
A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, Fay attended the Michigan School of Mining prior to settling in the Napa
Valley.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane, of Yountville; a sister, Jane Bryan, of San Rafael; nephew Peter Bryan and
his wife, Mary Ann, or Napa; and niece Nancy Chambers, of Solana Beach; three stepsons; and many step-
grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 51 years, Nellie, who died in December or 1995.

Nathan Fay
Although trained as a mining engineer, after serving in World War II Nathan Fay wanted to farm. He and his wife
Nellie came to Napa Valley from Visalia in 1951. He bought 205 acres in what is now Stags Leap District, tended
its diverse crops and studied new varieties of grape to plant. Farm adviser Jim Lider recommended Cabernet
Sauvignon. In 1961, Nathans Cabernet was the first significant planting south of Oakville.
In 1967, Nathan had the chance to buy additional acreage then in prunes. He asked his good friend and fellow
home winemaker, Father TomTurnbull, to come in on half. Tom and his wife, Mary Jane, who lived in the St.
Johns rectory on Stone Crest in Napa, bought their half, planted Merlot at Nathans suggestionhe said it
caused less stressand built an adobe house into which they moved after eleven years of making every brick of
it themselves.

Nathan planted more Cabernet and Merlot on his new acreage and sold his grapes to Charles Krug, Phelps, Heitz
(Heitz Cellars produced five vintages designated Fay Vineyard),Chimney Rock, and Carneros Creek as well as to
avid home winemakers such as Earl Thollander. Nathans own homemade wine had inspired Warren Winiarski to
buy land and make wine next door to Nathan. In 1986, Nathan sold most of his vineyard to Warren and a patch
to Joe Phelps. He and Nellie continued to live in their house on Warrens land. In 1988 Father Tom Turnbull died
and in 1995 Nellie Fay passed away. Nathan and Mary Jane married in 1996, and Nathan moved into the adobe;
he and Mary Jane looked after her vineyard and he oversaw Turn bull home winemaking until his death. Stags
Leap District Winegrowers, in Nathans honor, annually fund a graduate student in viticultural research in the
Viticulture and Enology Department at UC Davis. In 2006 Mary Jane donated Nathans farming journals to the
Napa Valley Wine Library.

Dick says Nathan introduced him to the art and joy of grape growing and winemaking by giving Dick his first
taste of homemade wine, a 1978 Cabernet that spoiled him from the start, never to becomeunspoiled. Dick
spent several sessions interviewing and photographing Nathan.

Obituary courtesy of Dean Enderlin.

The funeral of the late Walter Ferguson took place from the family residence Tuesday afternoon and was
attended by many people throughout the valley, and a big crowd of veterans from the Home were present to
pay their last respects to their friend and comrade.
Walter Ferguson had been a mighty good friend to them during his years of residence in Yountville. Many are
the times they had listened to this good man's advise [sic] during their wayward spells and had been benefited
thereby.
The Rev. Dr. U. E. Partridge of St. Helena officiated at the services at the house, and at the grave in the town
cemetery Unity Post No. 171, G.A.R., commanded by Ambrose Grow, took charge of the services, which were
most impressive. Never before did Funeral Director, Veteran J. B. Pierpont, ever deliver the beautiful Grand
Army of the Republic's Funeral Ritual as he did this day. Many tears stained the eyes of that large assemblage
during the services.
During life Mr. Ferguson (and wife) were prominent in church affairs and he was a man of high attainments and
one who had a host of friends who regarded him as a most valuable citizen. On account of the physical
condition of the grief stricken wife of the deceased, the firing squad omitted firing the regular number of volleys
over the grave. The choir of ladies present sang "Nearer My God to Thee," then the benediction was
pronounced by Dr. Partridge and Bugler Lynch sounded "taps" over the grave and the honored and esteemed
veteran and citizen was laid to rest.
To mourn his loss Mr. Ferguson leaves a sorrowing wife and four children and many other relatives, all living in
this county except two, Mrs. F. H. Miller, a daughter in the east, and Charles Ferguson of Vallejo. The other two
are: Miss Annie and Arthur.
The following lines we offer as a fitting tribute to the dead soldier:

"Cease firing." See the shattered red

Thin battle-line "at ease," the while
The muffled drums from file to file
Roll out the Assembly of the Dead.

"Cease firing." By high Lookout's hill,

By dark Bull Run, by Mobile's bench,
And where the once-stained rivers reach
To Gulf and sea, the guns are still.

"Cease firing." Lo, along the great
Red field of Gettysburg the rain
Makes the grass above the slain
The nesting dove coos to her mate.

"Cease firing." Now the battle blade

Beat into harvest-hook doth reap --
The blood-tinged spear-head furrows deep
Where erstwhile plowed the cannonade.

"Cease firing." Fierce war disappears,

The blossoms pall its graves today;
The soldiers of the Blue and Gray
Strike hands across the riven years.

"Cease firing." Now the bugle calls

Over the buried here "cease!"
Over the sleeping soldier peace
Soft as a benediction falls.

"Lou Jefferson, 78, former Yountville councilman, Politician, writer, musician, falls to lung cancer
By JAY GOEUING, Register Staff Writer

Lou Jefferson a writer, musician, former aide to Secretary of State John Foster Dulles and longtime Yountville
Town Council member died of lung cancer at Napa's Queen of the Valley Hospital on March 4. He was 78.
Jefferson was fondly remembered by former colleagues as an intelligent and courteous person with a great
sense of humor and compassion.
"Lou was a great person to work with," said former Yountville Town Council member Eric Knight, who served
with Jefferson. "His service was a real benefit to the community."
According to an obituary prepared for the Yountville Sun by Jefferson's wife, Margret, Louis Wilson Jefferson
was born on Sept. 28, 1927, in Baltimore.
Jefferson learned to play the trumpet as a teenager, and as a young man performed on Maryland's Eastern
Shore, citing Dizzy Gillespie and other jazz titans as influences.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, based in Anniston, Ala.
After working as a copy boy at the Washington Post, he caught on with the State Department and eventually
became personal assistant and bodyguard to Dulles, who served as secretary of state during the Eisenhower
administration.
Jefferson met world leaders and traveled the globe many times over with Dulles, and eventually wrote a book
about his experiences. The title, "The John Foster Dulles Book of Humor," was viewed by many Washingtonians
as something of an oxymoron. British Prime Minister Anthony Eden once referred to Ike's secretary of state as
"Dull, Duller, Dulles."
After leaving the State Department, Jefferson went into political consulting and public relations, moving to San
Francisco in 1970 to work for the Environmental Protection Agency.
Jefferson and his wife, Margret, moved to Yountville in 1986, and he was elected to the town council in 1990,
ultimately serving three terms.
There he voted on several proposals for inns and other developments, seeking to balance the economic
interests of the city and developers with those of the community.
Jefferson ran for county supervisor in 1996, against Napa Sentinel publisher Harry Martin and eventual winner
Mark Luce.

Yountville Mayor Todd Carlson said Jefferson was a larger than life figure in Napa County, actively involved at all
levels of government. "I'm deeply saddened by Lou's passing," said Carlson. "I've lost a good friend and
mentor."
Jefferson was also a contributor to the Yountville Sun from 1998 until earlier this year, writing nearly 400
profiles of local figures.
This week, Luce said he knew Jefferson had entered the hospital but was saddened to hear of his passing. "He
was just a wonderful individual who had a passion for people," said Luce. "His article in the Yountville Sun told
interesting stories about people, and he was truly interested in them."
Survivors include his wife, Margret, of Yountville, daughter Jennifer Jefferson of Wellesley, Mass., son Douglas
Jefferson of San Francisco, their families and many others. A celebration of Jefferson's life is still being planned."

1. Drink Claims Another Victim

Coroner Kyser went to Yountville Thursday evening to investigate the death of a veteran named Kelly, who
died at the Eagle Hotel in Yountville after a prolonged spree. Kelly received a large sum of back pension
money a few dags [sic] ago and at once went on his final drunk [sic]. Dr. Hennessey went up to Yountville
late in the evening to hold an autopsy. As the telephone wires were down, it was impossible to get
particulars.

3. The Death of Kelly

An inquest was held at Yountville Thursday evening on the body of Andrew J. Kelly, who died that day at the
Eagle Hotel. The jury, consisting of J. D. Wichels, J. L. Shroyer, Edwin James, Chas. Gibbs, D. McVicker and D.
A. Casidy, found a verdict that death resulted from "failure of the heart caused by excessive use of alcohol,
and we further exonerate the party keeping the place from all blame in the matter."

Page 35 Memorial Day 2017 1888 Larkspur St., Yountville, CA 94599 / E-mail: dprsjacksn@aol.com
The verdict calls for an explanation. It appears that Kelly was at the Eagle Hotel, off and on, from the middle
of August to the time of his death, and that he had been ill most of that time, partly from heart trouble but
principally from over-indulgence in liquor. He drew something over seven hundred dollars back pension
money and the keeper of the hotel got about five hundred of it for board and "booze." When he died all
that he had left was about thirty-five dollars.
P. Guillaume, who runs the hotel, has paid Kelly's doctor and medicine bills, and had him decently buried
Friday.
The death has caused considerable talk at Yountville and the Home. It seems to be a case of a man who
wanted to drink and another who was willing to sell him liquor and take all the money he could get for it.
Seven hundred a month is pretty "high rolling" for a man of Kelly's age and position.
Deceased had served in the California Volunteers from Dec. 11, '64, to Oct. 24, '65, and was mustered in at
Marysville and discharged at Fort Point. He was discharged from the Veterans' Home Aug. 16th at his own
request.

Lifelong Napa Valley resident Warren Frederick Lincoln passed away peacefully at home with his family nearby
on Saturday, May 26, 2007.
Warren lived a long and happy life and enjoyed most the time spent with family and friends.
He was born on Nov. 19, 1922, to Edward Lincoln and Mary Penning Lincoln and raised on the family ranch in
Oakville. Warren attended the Oakville Elementary School and graduated from Napa High School in 1942.

He enlisted in the Army in 1944 and served honorably with the 34th Infantry Regiment in the Philippines during
World War II. It was no surprise that after his release from the service he would choose to make a career out of
something he loved and knew best, working in the outdoors, and went into partnership with his brother,
Edward, operating a dairy farm on State Lane in Yountville. He eventually bought out his brothers interest and
continued to manage the dairy until 1968.
On May 27, 1951, he married Ruth Appeltofft and together they raised their family and were a large part of
what was then the small community of Yountville. He became a member of the Yountville Volunteer Firemen,
Focus, Kiwanis, as well as the local Chamber of Commerce.
Warren also spent several years working for Napa County. Retirement to Warren never meant being idle; there
was always something that needed to be done on the ranch or places to go and people to visit. In 1994, they
sold the ranch and moved to a home in Monticello Park, Napa, where they have resided for the past 13 years.
Warren is survived by his loving wife, Ruth, of Napa; daughters Karen Millhouse (Harry) of Yountville, Lisa Mallen
(Kevin) of San Rafael; granddaughters Sheri Bisso (Robert), Shelly Millhouse, Haley Mallen, Claire Mallen and
Emily Mallen; sister Edna Valva (William) of Vallejo; and numerous nieces and nephews who were all very
special to him. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Mary Lincoln; and his brother, Edward
Lincoln.
The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 1 at 2 p.m. at the Claffey and Rota Funeral Home, 1975 Main St.,
in Napa.
The family would like to recognize the exceptional care provided by his caregiver of the past two years, Mary
West. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Napa Valley, 414 South Jefferson St., Napa, CA
94559; or Queen of the Valley Foundation, P.O. Box 2069, Napa, CA 94558.

Obituary or Article:
Fatal Accident.

A terrible accident occurred on the Napa Valley railroad just above Yountville Monday morning. An old man
named Henry Naramore, who lives in Yountville, started that morning to drive over to Mr. LaRue's place. In the
cart with him was a little son of Bob Cassidy and a dog. They reached the railroad crossing just as the down
passenger train was coming along, and attempted to cross the track ahead of the train. Mr. Naramore is an old
man 73 years of age and quite deaf, and it is not known whether he saw the train coming or not. At any rate, the
horse stopped on the track and the engine dashed into them. Mr. Naramore was thrown out on one side and
the boy on the other. The cart was completely wrecked, and the horse and dog killed. The Cassidy boy though
thrown a long distance, miraculously escaped without serious injury. Mr. Naramore had one of his legs terribly
crushed and was otherwise badly bruised. He was picked up and removed as soon as possible to his home,
where he died from the effects of his injuries at about 11 o'clock. Deceased was a native of New York, and a
stonemason by trade.

The Verdict.

Following is the verdict rendered by the Coroner's jury which held an inquest on the remains of H. Naramore,
who was killed near Yountville by the train Monday morning.
We, the undersigned, the Coroner's jury at an inquest held over the body of Henry J. Naramore, at Yountville,
Napa county, California, find that the said Henry J. Naramore is a native of New York, aged 73 years, and a
citizen of Yountville, Napa Co., Cal.; and that he came to his death by being knocked out of a cart, while driving
over a railroad crossing, by the morning down train from Calistoga to San Francisco, on the 27th day of July, A.
D. 1891, and the direct cause of his death was the result of the shock received by the collision.

3. Yountville and Veterans Home

The funeral of Veteran Joseph Wolff, late husband of Minnie Wolff, who was buried five months ago, took
place Wednesday afternoon. After the death of his wife, this aged, blind veteran (who was then in the
Veterans' Home Hospital) began to lose his reason and was removed to the Napa Institution, where he died.
'Twas a sorrowing scene yesterday afternoon at the Yountville cemetery when Mr. Wolff's remains were laid
away in the grave close to his wife. Many townspeople were there with flowers to strew upon those two
mounds. 'Tis the final passing of the couple whose life was not "all roses." Henry and Frederick are the two
surviving children. Henry was present at the funeral.

War: War of 1812, Indian Wars
Branch of Service: Unknown
Military Rank: Unknown
Grave Inscription: Born in Burke County N.C. Aged 71 years and 5 months.
Notes: As a young child George migrated with his parents to Cape Girardeau, MO. He later
became a trapper and started on his journey to California. Yount arrived in Napa Valley,
California in the 1830's and was given a land grant by the Spanish government. He
planted the first grapevine in the Valley, which later became famous for its vineyards.
The town of Yountville, California was named after him. Yount is a legend in Napa Valley,
and is credited with having an important role in the rescue of the infamous Donner Party.
*"Elizabeth Ann Yount, Younts youngest daughter married John Calvert Davis in
California. ----History suggests this is where the middle name Calvert got mixed-up and
was attributed to George Yount.
Yount was not given a middle name at birth. He obtained his middle name when he
received his Mexican land grant. At that time a Protestant, like Yount, could not hold
land owned by the Mexican government. So to receive his Rancho Caymus lands Yount
agreed to convert to Catholicism and to pledge allegiance to Mexico.
When Yount was baptized he took the baptismal name of Conception which also began
with a C like Calvert. So now we have that storyGeorge Younts middle name was not
Calvert. - Margie Mohler

1. Yountville Pioneer Is Honored - BY VIRGINIA HANRAHAN

YOUNTVILLE An early October issue of The Napa Register in 1863 printed the following sad tidings from
the village of Sebastopol (now Yountville): "Died, Thursday, Oct 5, 1865 at his residence, George C.
Yount, after an illness of a year's duration. Funeral from residence Sunday, Oct 8, at 11 a.m."
Endowed by nature with robust frame, strengthened and knit together by the employments and hardships
of mountain life, he withstood the assaults of disease beyond expectation of the most hopeful. Born in
North Carolina in 1794, he emigrated to Missouri, and, more than 30 years ago, become the first American
to take up abode here in 1836."
Many Friends
About 300 friends came to the Yount abode on Caymus road to pay their respects as his remains lay in the
casket His friend, the Rev. J. L Ver Mehr of the Episcopal Church, gave the sermon at the funeral. When the
hearse left the house it was immediately followed by two aged Indians, who had been at Caymus Rancho
from the first, leading Yount's favorite horse, saddled and equipped. They were followed by a cortege of 125
carriages and a long train of horsemen.
Yount was buried with Masonic honors.
On Feb. 8, 1868, The Napa Register announced that a handsome monument for Yount's grave had been
completed at the Pritchard and Hevrin Marbleworks in San Francisco.

3. Patriotic Group Will Honor George Yount

Fredonia Chapter of San Francisco Daughters of the War of 1812, will unveil a marker on the grave of George
C. Yount, pioneer of California, at the Yountville cemetery on Sunday, May 2nd, in tribute to his service in
the War of 1812. The organization has been searching for graves of veterans of that war and is placing
beautiful markers on each one found. Appropriate ceremonies are held in dedicating the markers.
George Calvert* Yount was born in North Carolina in 1794, where be grew to young manhood and enlisted
for service in the war against England in 1812. He arrived in California in 1831 and was the first settler in
Napa valley, locating near Yountville, which later became a village and was named in his honor. He was one
of the leaders of the group rescuing the Donner party.
Mr. Yount was instrumental in organizing one of the Masonic lodges in California, that being at Yountville.
Later the headquarters of the lodge was moved to Napa, but it is still known as Yount Lodge, No. 12, F. and
A. M.
The ceremony of dedicating the marker will start at 2:30 p.m. and is to be attended by descendants of Mr.
Yount, members of the Daughters of 1812 and others who may desire to be present. Assistance in arranging

4. Native Daughters to Honor Yount at Memorial Services (Article on George C. Yount)

George C. Yount Parlor 322, Native Daughters of the Golden West, will honor Napa County's earliest pioneer
Saturday in Memorial Day services at 1 p.m. at the Yount grave in Yountville Cemetery. The public is invited
to participate in the service at the site, designated State Historical Landmark 693, and to view the handsome
monument and the ornate wrought iron fence surrounding the grave which have been recently restored by
the parlor as a community service.
Following the brief ceremonies, the Native Daughters will serve coffee and cookies in Yountville Park.
Program
The program will include greetings by Parlor President Margaret Fagiani; invocation by the Rev. Arthur
Wilson, Episcopal chaplain at the Veterans Home; a wreath-laying service by Native Daughters; remarks by
Director Ray Schulze of the Yountville Cemetery Association, who will assist the parlor in sponsoring the
ceremonies; military honors by a color guard, bugle corps and firing squad under the direction of the
Veterans Home Adjutant, O.K. Andrews; and a benediction by the Rev. A. McCall of the Yountville
Community Church. Barbara Dulinsky and Eleanor Valenzuela are co-chairmen of the annual memorial
service. The pioneer to be honored was born in North Carolina in 1794, and after his family emigrated to
Missouri in 1804 he led the life of a trapper and hunter and fought in the War of 1812.
Earliest Pioneer
History records that Yount set out for California in February of 1831, earning him the rank of one of the
earliest pioneers on the Pacific Coast. For some time he was the only American in the territory between
Mission Sonoma and the quarters of the Hudson Bay Company to the north. In March, 1836, Yount secured
the first land grant in this area and cleared the wilderness. On his Napa Valley site he built a Kentucky-type
block house, a grist mill and saw mill, fought off the Grizzlies and unfriendly Indians, and made the first wine

in Napa Valley from grape cuttings he planted to a vineyard from stock given him by the Padres of Mission
Sonoma. Yount's Caymus Rancho became the last regular stopping point for the pioneer and early settlers.
Yount died in October, 1865, at the age of 71, and was buried in the town which bears his name in the
center of Napa Valley. According to Mrs. Fagiani, The Napa Register announced on Feb. 8, 1868, that a

Burials recently identified or confirmed as Veterans at the George C. Yount Pioneer Cemetery

How to Locate a Grave:

NOTE: B = Block, R = Row

Look up the person on the list of cemetery locations beginning on page 62. The Veterans
in each block are arranged alphabetically.

See what Block #, Row #, and Marker # they are. For example, Block 4, Row 30, #497 is
George C. Younts gravesite.

Look at the graphical map for that Block # on page 66.

Use the Marker # to find the person on the Cemetery Map Guide for each block starting
on page 68 to determine where the marker is located in relation to others in the row.

Notes on Cemetery Map Guide to Grave Markers

All stones are assigned a marker number.

Each Veteran is highlighted with a flag icon.

Please note all beginnings and endings of rows are indicated on the cemetery location
table starting on page 62.

Within a row, if there is a long space between markers, it is indicated with a long arrow.
(For example on page 68, Block 2, Row 47, see the arrow between marker numbers 748
and 751.

Each beginning marker will determine the path of the row. All other markers in the
row will either be to the left, to the right, or in line with the first marker in the row.

World War I
(1914 to 1918)

The American entry into World War I came in April 1917. President Woodrow Wilson began
limited preparations for war and kept the U.S. Army on its small peacetime basis despite
increasing demands for preparedness. Germany decided to resume all-out submarine
warfare against Britain to force the United States in to war. Congress voted to declare war
against Germany on April 6, 1917. On December 7, 1917, the US declared war on the Austro-
Hungarian Empire. The U.S. emerged from the war as the worlds leading economy.

war, which is the biggest mass war known to man. Apart
from ending the German aggression, the war altered the
political alignment and social structure of the world. The
United Nations was established after the war.

Epilogue
As I complete this book, I know this is not the end of my volunteer work at the George C. Yount
Cemetery. In my first book, "Mapping the George C. Yount Pioneer Cemetery," I made a map of the
cemetery and released the names of all those with grave markers or known to be buried there. My
second and third book were an effort to honor all those veterans buried there. With the release of the
Napa County Library Newspaper Archives, I am currently in the process of researching obituaries
for all the people buried at the cemetery. With over 1,281 graves, this will take a very long time.
Through the newspaper archives, I continue to learn of more buried there, including more Veterans.

These books are only as accurate and up-to-date as of the day they are published. However, with the
fabulous website findagrave.com, I have an opportunity to continuously update information about
each person. Family contacts and other findagrave.com members continue to provide additional
facts about the deceased to the memorial that I, or others, have created on the website. Additionally,
as I myself learn more, I share it with other contributors who have built memorials regarding the
people buried at the cemetery. By doing so, we continue to build upon and chronicle those buried
here. I strongly believe in "sourcing" facts I add to this site. While it is not required, I believe it is
important. I also try to keep track of the person or persons who send me information about a
particular burial.

While I thoroughly enjoyed my work "in the field" at the cemetery, I am no longer physically able to
do so, therefore, most of my focus is online. I welcome new information about people buried at this
cemetery. The original cemetery book, and my two cemetery veterans books are available at the
Napa County Library. The original book is sold in a compact disc (CD) media to benefit the

This addendum link will include all future veterans found to be buried at the George C. Yount
Cemetery, as well as, any future changes or additions after Memorial Day 2017.

My goal in writing these books is to provide information on the genealogy and family history of the
individuals buried at the George C. Yount Cemetery. I have been interested in genealogy for many
years, and my contributions to findagrave.com are a reflection of that.

The original historical material presented in my books is not copyrighted and anyone is invited to
use it. Mention of the author would be appreciated. Contributions of information about those buried
at the George C. Yount Cemetery are welcomed, and may be submitted to the author by mail at 1888
Larkspur St., Yountville, CA 94599, or by email at dprsjacksn@aol.com.
