PERSONAL PROFILE
I am a Liverpool John Moores University student. I am in my final year of Dance
Practices and have been accepted on to my PGDE in Dance secondary for next
year. I am a highly motivated, hard-working and dedicated individual, who has a
keen eye for detail and always a willingness to learn new skills. I have excellent
time keeping and communication skills, with the ability to both follow and give
instructions accurately. I am a good team player and am able to work
independently using my own initiative. I am reliable individual who takes pride in
her work and always endeavours to complete tasks to the highest standard and
Passionate to provide maximum quality and assistance to customers. I like
working in a team and meeting targets to the best of my ability. I have a great
amount of experience in teaching dance to young students in a school-based
environment and a community based environment.

My experience:
I have 17 years of dance experience; I have won the world championships and all
British championships in the UK. I have done gymnastics for six years during
that time. I have experience in freestyle, contemporary, commercial, jazz,
gymnastics and tap. My experience in dance teaching started in Belfast at the
age of 18, the dance school was a community-based school who competed in
many dance competitions around the world, I taught students from the age of 3-
18, and at this school, and there I took individual private lessons and freestyle
classes. At the age of 21 I moved to Liverpool to study a HNC in Dance which
there as part of my course I had to teach level 3 students in Liverpool
Community Collage for 8 weeks which was contemporary, jazz and commercial
based classes. Following that, I started to teach in St. Michaels in the hamlet
primary school, the age range of students was from primary one to primary six. I
then moved on to an all-girls secondary school, which was Archbishop Blanch.
The age rang was from year 7- year 11. I teach in St. Julies Catholic School at the
minute, which ranges from key stage three and four students. I feel I have great
knowledge in dance as a teacher and as a dancer, I know how to motivate
students at all ages and make the class as fun as possible but also making sure
the children in the class are learning just as much. I have done an investigation
in Goal settings within dance to which I feel has given me the knowledge to
create a positive pathway for all ages and for all abilities. I now deliver
contemporary and commercial lessons in St. Julies Catholic Secondary school
with a mixed ability of students that has a curriculum to follow which means
targets and deadlines need to be met on time.
