Position Title: Council Service Coordinator

Position Objectives

Ensure that the responsibilities of this position are carried out in accordance with relevant legislation,
Council policies and management guidelines.

Organisational Relationships
Responsible to Area Manager
(immediate supervisor)
Supervision of Team Leader Works, Essential Services Operator, Administration
(direct) Officer, Administration Officer - Centrelink

Position Responsibilities
Duties
Coordinate delivery of core and contract services provided by Council Service Delivery Centres
Mentor, train and develop staff
Maintain Council assets used to deliver services
Provide accurate and timely service delivery reports to Area Manager
Contribute to the development of the Councils Strategic and Business Plans
Contribute to reporting on relevant Directorate actions and performance measures
Supervise and monitor Service Centre Delivery staff in performance of duties
Monitor and regulate Service Centre Delivery budgets
Respond in a timely manner to head office directions
Monitor and maintain Community Emergency Recovery Plans
Provide advice to others
Undertake performance management and coaching/mentoring
Work under general supervision
Work with others to complete tasks
Manage the integration of a broad number of tasks and incorporate, review and evaluate the tasks of
others
Establish and maintain a safe working environment
Develop a positive working relationship with community stakeholders
Provide secretariat support to Local Authority and Local Authority Chairperson
Any other reasonable requests from supervisor

Authority and Accountability


Share accountability with supervisor/manager
Accountability for management of resources
Accountable for meeting key performance indicators within work area as well as the quality of work of
others
Represent the Council at external meetings
Use established procedures
May adapt work procedures in accordance with Management Guidelines
Significant planning and management responsibilities
Assist in operational and strategic planning

Skills and Experience


Essential
Demonstrated experience in working effectively with Indigenous Australians
Proven leadership and staff management skills
Proven ability in managing physical resources
Experience in establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with stakeholders
Sound decision making skills including an analytical approach to problem solving
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Understanding of business and financial planning principles and practices
Hold a current Drivers License.
Tertiary qualification and/or several years relevant work experience
Sound computer skills including experience using a number of diverse software programs
High level communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work unsupervised
Job planning, analytical and reporting skills

Desirable
Knowledge of statutory, legal and contractual obligations
Negotiation and conflict management skills
Completed accredited 4WD training course
