RE: SHOW CAUSE LETTER GROSS MISCONDUCT
Management has noted with concern your deteriorated levels of ethics and integrity as follows;

1. In an effort to implement a counter staff incentive scheme, the management conducted a counter staff
validation exercise. It was established that the counter sales staff list report you submitted for the same
had numerous discrepancies. For instance, out of a total 746 numbers, 141 were mismatched and the
rest (73 numbers) were either not answered or out of service. This showed a high degree of negligence
on your part.

2. The same list you submitted included a Safaricom number +254702824318 cited as belonging to one
Jacob working at Rumisha Hardware. However, upon verification, it was established that the number
belonged to one Phil Keke who is (by your own confirmation) your son.

3. On 31st March, 2017, you claimed and got paid a total amount of Kshs. 16, 600/= being accommodation
allowance for two nights to attend an Employee Engagement Meeting that would hardly last an hour, on
4th April, 2017 at our CPKL Likoni road Training Room. The proximity of Nakuru town to Nairobi is close
and does not require any responsible person to claim a night-out allowance for the purpose of such an
engagement.

These revelations cast substantial doubt on your work ethics and this portrays you as a person of questionable
integrity. Your conduct is irresponsible and unethical. The position of Sales Executive is a sensitive function that
requires honesty and integrity, yet this is clearly lacking.
Your actions are tantamount to negligence of duty and gross misconduct in accordance with the provisions of
Chapter 8.12(vi) and (viii) of the Company Policies Manual.

In view of the above you are hereby required to show cause why a severe disciplinary action should not be taken
against you for gross misconduct. Your written response should reach the undersigned not later than twenty four
(24) hours from the time of receipt of this letter in accordance with Chapter 8.7 (a) of the HR Policies Manual .
