Joshua Davis

An assessment on $1.00, $5.00, and $10.00 was given. This was to see how much students already
knew about one, five and ten dollar. Mr. Davis instructed the students to identify the money amount and
recognize the $ sign.

Mr. Davis brought the students to the front when beginning his lesson on money. He used the
Smartboard to model the lesson. Mr. Davis drew different money amounts and the students responded.

We also have coins that equal a $. He modeled quarters.

Moved to addition and subtraction 54 + 63=, 160 60= 1000-900=

Students were instructed to take out their Everyday Math Journals. The lesson involved working with
money.

The student answered questions regarding the money value of items on the workbook page.

Mr. Davis passed out money to work with during the next activity. Mr. Davis used the Smartboard to
draw items to purchase. The students had to indicate if they had enough money to purchase the item.
The students used their dry erase boards when answering questions.

Discussed vocabulary words for the reading lesson. Mr. Davis discussed the reading selection they would
be reading. The students were brought to the carpet for review of vocabulary words. Mr. Davis read the
students orally as students listened quietly.

The Signmakers Assistant was the reading selection. Mr. Davis discussed the genre.

The students read meet the author and illustrator. Mr. Davis read orally as the students followed along.

Mr. Davis discussed sequence of events in the story.

The students worked with dates and had to place commas in the correct position of the date. February

Joshua, I enjoyed my visit. You had student engaged in your lessons. You had good classroom
management and monitored students to make sure they were focused on you and the lesson. Good
voice projection. You had two good lessons, lots of student engagement.
