ROLLINS PLACE ELEMENTARY

Christy Wojohn, First Grade Teacher | christy.wojohn@zacharyschools.org

To Whom It May Concern:

I would hire Annie Pizzini as a teacher of young children, today! I had the pleasure of working with
Annie for the spring semester 2016, which was her junior year. Immediately, I saw a maturity,
professionalism, and confidence that many senior student interns lack!

Ms. Pizzini is a gifted and dedicated early childhood professional.

Ms. Pizzini is gifted in the sense that she has a very natural rapport with students. She is warm and
personal, yet respected as a teacher. She communicates care, concern, and respect for students.
She promotes student confidence and an excitement for inquiry. She expects good behavior and
academic achievement and the students respond positively to her expectations. She understands
childhood development so that she sees what is developmentally appropriate in terms of student
behavior and teacher instruction.

Ms. Pizzini is dedicated in that she is teacher with initiative and a strong work ethic. She jumped in
to do an interactive read aloud whole group lesson shortly after her arrival in my classroom. She
managed the children beautifully by promoting engagement but keeping learners respectful of one
another. I still remember that lesson, one year ago, as she taught the children through a Scholastic
News biographical sketch of Ruby Bridges. She taught and fielded questions beyond the
information provided in the text. When I asked her about that later, she replied that she felt if she
was going to teach a text about Ruby Bridges, she had better do additional research.

Ms. Pizzini also demonstrated keen ability to pick up quickly on teaching points in the readers and
writers workshop lessons, as well as math lessons, in order to come along side to scaffold striving
learners, one on one, or in small groups.

Ms. Pizzini was a delight to have in my classroom. She was very respectful to me, willing to help in
any way, and worked well with the members of her LSU co-hort. She has a winsome personality
and she is an excellent planner and communicator. The children and I missed her when she had to
leave us! I can only imagine what an exceptionally strong candidate Ms. Pizzini is now, with
another year of experience, instruction and growth!

In conclusion, I would recommend Ms. Annie Pizzini for employment. She would be a very positive
addition to your staff, I am sure. You can trust your young learners to her care and expertise.

Sincerely,
Christy Wojohn
