Explore file location opens default dl location even if files are located elsewh

ere. Why? There's little reason for this; I want the download location that open
s to be relevant to the specific file I click on.
Why are change download location and explore files at the bottom of the context
menu? They should be at the top. And why is labels at the bottom?

Channels is bitchin. Really good. I love how the system works; it's unique from
other torrent experiences I've seen. It promotes sharing the channels that you f
ind good and their torrents as well. Everyone is downloading those torrents, so
they become particularly strong with seed count. Then, if the channel itself get
s popular, each user who favorites it helps to distribute the channel content, b
ecoming another seeder.
I think that search feature is the worst part about tribler. So far, the search
shows in a list view which cannot be further explored. It needs to have the abil
ity to click on each file and open its page, to look at information about it --
things like the video or audio bitrate, the format, the files it contains, etc.
and also a comments section for each so people can see others' reviews and also,
especially for things that require modifying the computer, they can also serve
as a chatroom for issues. People who are subscribed to the channel, in favorites
, should be notified when posts go onto any torrent they have seeded, although i
dk if this is feasible for those who are seeding thousands of torrents. They mig
ht be hammered constantly with updates, which would get obnoxious. But overall p
oint: the search needs to be refined to feel a little cleaner and not so basic (
the whole thing could use a better look to attract more people -- which, i might
add, tribler especially should regard as important, because a wide userbase is
what will make it work), and each torrent needs to have its own page for informa
tion (publicly sourced, wiki style) and comments. Also context menu could use mi
nor reprogramming.
Move collected torrent files to %appdata%. It's fucking up my beautifully organi
zed Torrents folder with some unixy-looking nonconformity. DETH.
Can we make the switch between the menus on the sidebar a little snappier. I was
double clicking those home results channels downloads videoplayer things becaus
e it took so long, I thought that was required. Then I tried a single click and
was still unsure if it needed a double click because it took too long. Just brin
g that down in time.
What's with the video player? Jesus, just offer to install vlc on their computer
instead (but leave it as something to check and click install for, not somethin
g that auto installs by deault is checked in the installation screen for tribler
. That shit is obnoxious). We're not downloading this program as a media center,
we're downloading it to download files and use the torrent network, (and also p
artially to support the bittorent network and especially this implementation of
it. I'm seeding more than I usually do, because I feel like I should support som
ething like this to help it grow). So don't try to become my mmedia player -- I
have something for that. I just want this to do the work of downloading.
OH! BIG PROBLEM -- why can't I adjust the anonymity once I start downloading a f
ile? It just says in the status "yes" or "no" now, and I want to get back to opt
ion to move the slider along the scale and choose different anonymity. I started
at 0 and want to get to 5. Or I started at 5 and only want level 3 now. But tha
t's not an option, and that's an issue.
You'd think something like this wouldn't be very quick, especially beccause it d
oesn't seem to have many users. But it is. I was downloading files just as quckl
y as with a regular trrent from piratebay (or one of its mirrors, actually) or k
ickass.torrents. Very impressve.
Does the search search through just triblers pages, or also searches and integra
tes the results froms searching other sites, such as piratebay? If so, can we cu
stomize that list? That'd be a cool list. Add in titles not through approved thi
ngs that are placed in by the team who devs this, but intead by search bar url k
eyword, like firefox's keyword search "google.com/%s%/" so it can be applied to
all kinds of bittorent search engines. Or perhaps tribler maintains its own list
and then that way the search can go much quicker as it sorts and optimizes all
of the libraries to be combined and combed through rapidly, so similar files can
find each other easily by chaining or some relational search, or just even name
sorting. Possible consequence that tribelr could gain a lot of power as the sea
rch engine of the torrent world, just as google is now (try disputing that fact?
google down for five minutes drops more than a quarter of the world's internet
traffic) -- if it combines and searches a bunch of services, then tribler could
blacklist a service and it'd be off the map, in essence, because people will use
the default engines.
Why does double clicking a torrent, in any torrent application, never open up th
e location where the file is? I'm done downloading the file, and the location do
esn't magically open up ever in the torrent application when it's done. SO natur
ally, when it's done I'm going to go to the file location at some point anyway.
Why not make it when I double click the file? So dumb, easy implementation.
