Form a group with other students with the same key word, share ideas and make a list on the
A4 paper of the words you have in common. Then decide on two words or phrases that the
group agrees capture the most important aspect of the keyword and write them below.
Finally, underline the one the best represents the most important aspect of the key word.
We will share these with the class. Write the other words below.

In teams of three, you will be mining for different resources which each has a different monetary
value.
You will have a mine site (container) and some mining equipment; three pairs of forceps, 1
teaspoon and a cup to collect your resources.
Each resource must be collected one at a time and without using hands directly just your
mining equipment.
You will have 15 minutes to mine and collect resources.
When you have some resources, visit the banker and get them to check your resources
then tally your resources and deliver them to the different collection locations around the room.
