[Project Leader] Supply chain Management dept. New vehicle Projects.

Main responsibilities:
Planning and execution of Import parts Supply chain activities along with RNAIPL [Renault
Nissan Automotive India PVT LTD] Chennai plant, by which the RENAULT expectations at the
milestones are met without any delays.

Responsibilities
1. IMPORTS LOGISTICS - BOM Analysis to confirm the accuracy of Nissan [G2B] and Renault
- Inbound Logistics [Signe] Ordering Systems.
- Import parts order quantity calculation based on the project milestone
[PT1, PT2 (Trial Phases) and SOP].
- Parts availability confirmation with all ILNs [ International Logistics
Network], total 7 ILNs [ Brasil , France (2), Romania, Spain, Turkey &
South korea ]. Introduced Parts tracking sheet which helped us to
have track of each parts.
- Shipments (Both sea and Air) follow-up with all 7 ILNs and shipping lines
[Hapag lloyd, CMA-CGM and Safmarine]. Implementaion of shipment
tracking and follow-up sheet in common website with access to all liners.

LOGISTICS PROTOCOL: [Official contract b/w RENAULT - NISSAN]


Preparation of document which covers all project related activities and
handover to RNAIPL at SOP. [ In agreement with Renault France and
RNAIPL management ]
Responsibilities
2. INPLANT LOGISTICS - Calculation of area required for Imports parts storage and layout
Preparation for the same.
- Evaluation of SOS for each operation along with RNAIPL shop floor team.
- Evalutaion of Intenal logistics flow and feedback to RNAIPL based on
Renault standards.
- Establishment of inventory management systems considering optimum
Stock at RNAIPL plant.

LOGISTICS PROTOCOL: [Offical contract b/w RENAULT - NISSAN]


Preparation of document which covers all Inplant project related
Activities and handover to RNAIPL at SOP. [ In agreement with
Renault France and RNAIPL management ]
3. IMPORT PARTS Packaging design for all import parts
Packaging Design: - Involve with RNTBCI [ Renault Nissan Technology and Business Cente
India ] for packaging design for all parts.

- Packaging validation of all the parts during trial stage and feedback to
ILNs and take Countermeasures. [Co ordination with RNAIPL
shopfloor, RNTBCI Packaging team and Renault ILNs ]
4. Design change COMODIF Committee for design change
Management. [ Weekly meeting where all design Changes will be
discussed and finalized]
- Leading COMODIF meeting involving all CFTs [Engineering,
Design, Plant SCM, Purchase and Management] and make
decision on adopt or abolish.
- Co ordinate to implement design change part based on the plant
Stock, supplier stock and transit stock.

Was Associated with TOYOTA KIRLOSKAR Motors Pvt. Ltd, Bangalore as Senior
Engineer - Production Control and Logistics Division. OEM Logistics & External
Logistics Dept.
Main responsibilities:
Logistics planning for new project [ Local inbound ], Packaging design for new projects
Daily operation handling and crisis management
New system Implementation [ TOYOTA G-Systems (Global Systems) TLMS, e-kanban ]
Responsibilities
1. External Logistics: Starting from Parts pickup from supplier till unload parts
at plant in JIT(JUST IN TIME)
- Established monthly logistics planning with PDCA to gain maximum
efficiency of trucks and to plan for best milk run routing.
- Logistics simulation with cost estimation for new projects like NEW
COROLLA launched in 2008 and FORTUNER launched in 2009 and
for TOYOTAs new compact car [ETIOS] launched in 2010 december .
- Established Logistics cost estimation concept - which helped in
finiding out the element wise logistics cost and to reduce the impact
to total logistcs cost. [Fixed cost, variable cost ]
- Started Logistics Simultaneous Engineering consider the logistics
view point at the parts and packaging design stage itself.
- Started Management of Logitisc KPI TREE which will be used to
identify the improvement points in logistics for future.
- Implemented Mixed Logistics concept with other affiliate companies
to get overall cost benefit to company.
RESULT :
1. Logistcs cost reduction of around 10% in 2008~09 and 5% in 2009~10
2. Estimated Logistics cost forecast for TOYOTAs Plant#2 [Etios
Production], which helped us to Know the future impact and start cost
reduction activity before start of actual production.

2. Packaging Design: Packaging design for all supplier parts from supplier
till parts usage location at plant.
- Established centralised bin vendor[Nilkamal] for all suppliers, to ensure
uniform quality and with minimum cost at the required leadtime.
- Sourced steel pallets vendor regionwise and deligated to suppliers
again to ensure uniform quality and with minimum cost.
- Established returnables tracking system to prevent returnables losses
and to track the life of returnables.
- Introduce EURO STANDARD bins for the first time in INDIA, which
will help in interstackability of bins and improve loading efficiency in
truck.
- Studied to introduce Plastic skids considering long life and easy
handling.
Responsibilities
3. NEW PROJECTS: A. PLANT #2 Logistics [ TOYOTAS Etios Production ]
- Estimation of the entire logistics planning for TOYOTA Plant#2 which
Started production from December 2010. Arrived at efficient logistics
network & arrived at resource in terms of No of trucks , No of Drivers,
and other resource planning and also established truck yard
management system.
B. P-LANE Implementation - 2010 [ Progressive Lane ]
- Established P-lane which is dividing the internal storage area as per
the production progress in the plant. This supports parts supply to
line side as per the production progress and external logistics
frequency can be made flexible to reduce logistics cost.
- Trained & implementation of E-kanban. For Implementation of P-LANE,
a supporting ordering system is E-kanban.
C. TLMS [ TOYOTA LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SYSTEM ]
- TLMS is a global TOYOTA logistics management system which
supports the route planner to optimise the route grouping with best
milk run combination considering transportation lead time & this lead
time data is transmitted to e-kanban to calculate exact no of parts
required.
- Trained in E-Kanban and TLMS at JAPAN and THAILAND
TOYOTA plants for 1 month and certified as Super User to
Implement the same in TOYOTA INDIA PLANT by April 2010.

4. IMPORT LOGISTICS Starting from container berthing from vessel [chennai]


till the parts are devanned in Plant.
- Started using 3 axle trailers to carry heavy parts conatiners like engines,
transmissions soon, there by reduced logistics cost by 3% ( 2009 ).
- Internal container yard layout optimisation to store more no of container
in plant, there by can avoid storing containers in CFS ( Container
Freight Storage near chennai port ).
- Cost reduction activities like changing the vanning pattern of parts
from exporter so that we can utilise maximum space inside container.
RESULT :
1. Logistcs cost reduction of around 3% in 2009.
5. INTERNAL Starting from parts unload in the plant and supply till
LOGISTICS usage location of part.
- Internal Layout optimisation to ensure linear flow of parts and to reduce
tow motor and fork lift movement.
- Study the each process time & establish standard operation procedure
for shop members to make them understand the work easily.
- Establishing parts flow to lineside from unloading location.
[ Big parts ( Seat, Glass.. ) using shncronising supply method ]
[ Small parts using mass supply based on pull system ]
- Layout planning for internal parts storage in P-Lane and
PC Zone.
- Establishing logistics flow of parts from supplier park till line side for all
On site supplier parts

RESULT :
1. Standardised work in shop & reduce the movement of tow motor.
2. Minimum inventroy in plant for supplier park suppliers.
