dedicated exclusively to neuropsychiatric and behavioural illness.
Schedule for Interview of Junior Resident & Senior Resident on Ad-hoc
basis held every month (Effective from 1st April, 2014 onwards)
Day Post & Department Requisite qualification/criteria
Junior Resident for Neurology and Qualification: MBBS or equivalent recognized by MCI.
2nd Friday Neurosurgery Department Scale of Pay: In the pay Band of Rs. 15600-39100+Grade Pay Rs. 5400/-+NPA

Junior Resident for Psychiatry Age: Upper age limit is 40 Years (relaxable for up-to five years for SC/ST

3 Friday Department candidates and three year for OBC candidates).
NOTE:
1. Post Graduate doctors who are interested to serve as Junior Residents
will be allowed to join as Junior Residents if fresh graduate are not
available.
2. Junior Residents who have completed one year of Junior Residency may
be allowed to again appear for interview for selection and will be offered
residency only if no fresh Junior Residents are available. There would be
no extension for any junior resident beyond one year of appointment
under relaxed provisions.
3. Internship completion date shall not be more than two years on day of
Walk-In-Interview.

Qualification: Recognized Post Graduate Degree/Diploma in the concerned
specialty.
Scale of Pay: In the pay Band of Rs. 15600-39100+Grade Pay Rs. 6600/-
+NPA
Age: Upper age limit is 40 Years (relaxable for upto five years for SC/ST
candidates and three year for OBC candidates).
NOTE:
1. In the Specialiteis where there is perpetual shortage like Radiology,
Anaesthesia etc. or in specialities where no fresh candidates are
available, candidates who have completed 3 years senior residency
but are willing to serve as Senior Residents may also be allowed to
appear in the interview.
2. Separate merit lists for fresh candidates and for others (those who
have completed 3 years of senior residency already) would be
prepared.
3. Firstly, the list containing names of fresh candidates would be
exhausted for appointment as senior residents and the second list
would be used only after that.
4. Further, all senior residents appointments from second list will be for
one year only. It would not be renewable after one year.

Note:
1. Candidate must check the website regularly for vacancies for Junior Resident & Senior Resident.
2. The walk in Interview will always be subject to availability of vacancy in the respective Department.
3. For any change in the schedule or any gazette holidays falling on schedule date, candidates are advised to
visit the website regularly for revised schedule.
4. If the Scheduled Friday happens to be gazetted holidays, the interview will be conducted on the next
working Friday.
5. In case, any candidate from selected list does not join, the opportunity is given to the wait list candidates.
The validity of the panel will be for 30 days from the date of interview.

7. The interested and eligible candidates holding the requisite qualification from recognized University may
apply in prescribed format, affix a recent coloured photograph, along-with attested photocopies of all
documents and a demand draft of Rs. 500/- (exempted for SC and ST candidates) drawn in
favor of the Director, IHBAS, Delhi-95.
8. In case those who have applied for DMC and awaiting the certificate also allowed for interview provided
that he/she must submit the DMC Registration certificate within one month of his/her joining.
9. While coming for the interview candidates should bring all the original documents for verification.
10. No TA/DA will be allowed for appearing in the interview.
11. In case of SC/ST/OBC/PH Category the applicant should be in possession of appropriate certificate issued
by Competent Authority. However, OBC certificate issued by the Authority of Govt. of NCT, Delhi, only
will be accepted.
12. Vacancies may vary as per vacancy position prevailing on date of Walk-in-Interview.
13. The institute reserves the right to postpone/cancel the interview without assigning any reason.
