Summary of Implementation:
Reading Apps: Of the four reading apps I listed, the two that I
could see being used in the same lesson are Evernote and
Enchanted Dictionary. Everynote will be used in class by both
students and myself, the teacher. I would provide a powerpoint
with slide that have room for notes to be added to by the
students. They will be able to reference these notes while working
in their Enchanted Dictionary at home working on vocab words
and strengthening their vocabulary. I would also use the
Everynote in a similar fashion to have the students prepare and
bring in sets of flash cards as a study aide.
Math Apps: The 2 math apps I prefer are Dragonbox and Buzz
math. In a school that does not have a ton of funding, their may
only be one computer or device per classroom. I would set up
times where students could engage in Dragonbox during days
when they cannot go outside for recess or have earned a fun day.
Buzzmath would be for a more fortunate school where all students
have access to smart technology. It could be used as math
worksheets in class, but the teacher could get live results and
feedback on students work rather than spending their weekend
grading them.
