Table 2.1 this table shows the diseases and illnesses that can be associated with depression. This table would be of great help to the future
researchers and students because they can easily determine the diseases caused by depression.

EFFECTS OF DEPRESSION TO THE BODY

depression accumulates, an individual become weak and prone to this kind of pains and illnesses. This table would be of great help to people
who have friends or family that are suffering from depression.

C. RESEARCH TOPICS

The research topics will explain the essential components of the study and clarify the conceptual framework mentioned in Chapter
1. The following are the research topics needed for the project is about the psychological effects of spaces. This research topics answers the
problems of the project and these are important for the study to be able to create a solution for the problems.

C.1 THEORIES OF ARCHITECTURE: PSYCHOLOGICAL EFFECTS OF SPACES

PSYCHOLOGY OF WATER

The feeling of enhanced well-being that comes from being around water is universal. The proximity to water has perceptible
benefits for our minds that include promoting calmness, creativity, focus, overall happiness and sleep quality. Exposure to nature
and the outdoors triggers parts of the brain associated with empathy, positive emotion, and self-awareness: the building blocks of
happiness. Being near water improves happiness and being immersed in water is even more powerful. The effect compares to
meditation. The term blue mind has been coined to describe the calm, peacefulness, unity and sense of general happiness and
satisfaction with life in the moment that people feel in and around water.

PSYCHOLOGY OF LIGHT

Light produces physiological effects and the people need a minimum light level to perform a task efficiently, accurately and
safely. People when relaxing tend to prefer a relatively dim part of a space oriented toward the brightest area but they prefer a
relatively bright part of the space while working. Light can and does affect our decision-making. The use of light and colors can
have a positive impact on a patients attitude and outlook. Lighting has a dramatic psychological effect on how individuals
perceive a space and how we feel and act when we are in it. Lighting ha a demonstrable effect on what captures our attention. The
number of lights can make people recognize if which spots are off-limits as well as feel secure as they explore the space. The
proper ambiance will evoke the desired mood in people entering the space. The lighting must represent the purpose of the space.

HEALING POWER OF COLOR

Our most important energy source is light, and the entire spectrum of colors is derived from light. Our body absorbs color energy
through the vibration color give off. All organs, body systems and functions are connected to main energy centers. Through color
we receive all the energies we need to maintain a healthy body, mind, and soul. Our mental health, behavior and general
efficiency in life depends to a great extent on normal color balance. When something goes wrong or out of balance, we can
strengthen our energy centers through the conscious use of color. Light consist of the seven color energies. Each color is
