ENGINE -- POWER TURBINE WITH IMPROVED AIRFLOW

CHARACTERISTICS
1. PLANNING INFORMATION

A. Effectivity
Rolls--Royce M250 --C20 Series and --B17 Series engines are affected by this bulletin as
follows:

B. Reason
To allow the approved turbine models to be converted to obtain the optimum performance from
the improved power turbine air flow characteristics.

C. Description
The redesigned power turbine offers an improved airflow design which will improve the
performance of the turbine assembly. The power turbine assembly is improved by replacing the
3rd--stage nozzle and wheel and replacing the 4th--stage nozzle and wheel. The power turbine
rotor and turbine assembly are re--identified with new part numbers. All the above changes must
be incorporated simultaneously.

Technical aspects are FAA approved.

E. Compliance
Compliance Code 7. To be complied with per customer option.
NOTE: Part obsolescence can require complying with this CEB.

F. Interchangeability
The new P/N 23069745 turbine assembly can be installed in the engines that follow:
6899400 (C20J); 23006900 (C20JN); 6886440 (C20B); 23004550 (C20B Pezetel (PZ));
6887190 (C20B (BX)); 6893660 (C20B (BB); 6899271 (C20F).
The new P/N 23072105 turbine assembly can be installed in engine 23052351 (C20W).
The new P/N 23088157 turbine assembly can be installed in all B17 series engines.
The new turbine assembly P/N 23088158 can be installed in engine 23008092 (C20S).
The turbine assembly P/N 23038244 can be installed in engine 6887191 (C20C).

M. Prerequisites
(1) All parts are to be installed simultaneously at the time of incorporation of this CEB.
(2) For turboshaft models, reference CEB 1400 and applicable OMM.
(3) For turboprop models, minimum continuous N2 speed is 90%. This could need to
coordinated with the airframe OEM. Also, reference TP CEB 1343 and applicable OMM.

2. ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS
A. Replace the power turbine assembly.
(1) Remove the turbine assembly in accordance with the instructions in the appropriate
Operation and Maintenance Manual (referenced in Paragraph 1.L. above) and return it to a
Rolls--Royce Authorized Maintenance Center (AMC).
(2) Install replacement turbine assembly in accordance with the instructions in the appropriate
Operation and Maintenance Manual.
B. Record compliance with this service bulletin in the applicable section of the engine logbook,
Turbine Assembly (pink pages), Part III, Modification Record.
