I am very interested in an internship position within Deloitte, LLP for the upcoming summer. After
extensive research on internship opportunities, Deloitte, LLP stood out because of the range of
activities in which interns will partake and utilize to grow their knowledge and skills. The specific
internship opportunity that stood out to me was the Advisory Intern within Technology Risk in the
Cincinnati office. As an accounting major with an Information Systems minor at Miami University of
Ohio with a passion for math and problem solving, I believe that I am a strong candidate for this
internship.

In addition to my focus on my academic endeavors, I also appreciate the importance of extra-

curricular activities. During my Junior year of high school, I went on a 4-day Kairos weekend retreat
with 69 other students. Kairos is a retreat for junior and senior high school students that is focused on
life experiences faced by teenagers. After attending this retreat, I interviewed and was accepted to the
leadership team for the following year. I was responsible for relating and connecting with students.
One of the main tasks was to draw on different aspects of their lives in order to create life stories to
be shared with the group. After eight weeks of training every Sunday afternoon, I received an
Effective Training for Personal and Professional Development Certificate. This experience taught me
how to interact with people I had never met. Even though it was only 4 days, I created friendships
that will last a lifetime. I relate this experience to the the internship program at Deloitte, LLP because
in any work environment, strong leadership and communication skills are important. This experience
has given me the ability to communicate with others more effectively by acknowledging others
emotions even though they may be different than mine.

Over the course of high school and the past two semesters at Miami University, I have continued to
develop a passion for anything with numbers, and through numerous courses found an increasing
interest in accounting and information systems. I can apply the skills that I have been learning to
real life experience within this internship. At this point, my studies have prepared me to examine
certain company accounts and utilize queries in order to assess financial success and financial risk.
I believe that your program will further my development in this area of study.
