Our proposal is to empower women home base workers for income generation and
food security to 80 women and 20 men in rural village of Rumbek households
(approximately 500 household members) in Western Lakes.
We are going to organize a skills development workshop on Women Food Literacy
for Local Employability and Empowerment to women, focus on self-efficiency and
resourcefulness through innovation. The training will draw 80 women and 20 men to
attend the 5-day food cooking skills training. These women should be taught how to
cook chapatti, mandasi, how to make juice, local bread and local pastry.
Why do you feel it is urgent to share this wisdom with others? How can it change the
world into a better place?
These women will become expert in cooking and know the food preferences of their
local communities and to use these skills for income generation
It will create employability, enterprise development and womens economic
empowerment
Women home based workers will sell their home cooked food to customers
It will help them to do away with the dwindling standards of living caused by low
levels of education and lack of employment for women in South Sudan
The end result will be a well-functioning self-sustainable training centre with cooking
materials, Small machines for juice making and program will be able to provide skills
to other women for many years to come.
