Abstract: Munawwar Khan Ghafil was an un famous poet. He was in the good book of Mushafi and his
pupil also. We have no informations about him in literary histories and tazkirat except Mushafi, Nasir and
Shoaq s tazkirat. He had his own poetic collection arranged alphabetically called Diwan. His poetry
presents the picture of simplicity, meaningfulness, creativity. He had extra ordiniary skill of poetry, thats
why he got a lot of appriciation from Mushafi. Study of his Diwan not only shows his poetic skills but also
stands him among unique poets of Urdu Literature.
