The Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan vides its letter No. SMD/SE/2(20) RTS/201 6 dated

February 1 2, 2016 has issued instructions regarding compliance of the requirement of Insertion of CNIC

Number in Transfer Deed and Form-A in accordance with the provisions of First and Third Schedule of

the Companies Ordinance, 1984. Letter received from the Commission is attached for

information/necessary action

Subject: Compliance with the Requirement of Insertion of CNIC Number in Transfer Deed
and Form-A in accordance with the Provisions of First and Third Schedule of the
COmpanies Ordinance. 1984

This is in continuation of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan earlier notices
dated April 02, 2010 and April 19, 2010 respectively on the captioned subject whereby Share
Registrars/Transfer Agents were instructed to verify the identity of shareholders through CNIC
amongst other measures, at the time of approvindposit requests into CDS.

It has been noticed that Registrars/Transfer Agents reject requests for deposit of physical share
certificates into Centralized Depository System (CDS) involving spelling mistakes or
typographical errors or other minor discrepancies between the name appearing' in target CDS
Account and that appearing on the share certificate account title / share certificate without
referring to other information of such shareholders available with them.

Accordingly, Share Registrars/Transfer Agents shall ensure compliance with the aforesaid
directives of the Commission and in order to facilitate shareholders to addtessbove concerns,
CNIC number shall also be used for verification purposes.
