Donald Trumps First 100 Days

Politics have divided Americans in numerous ways since the 2016 election and still

continue to do so. Between liberals and conservatives, political arguments have emerged and can

be discovered nearly everywhere. On November of 2016, the fight was about to get put to the

test and be solved once and for all, or, so Americans thought so. Although democratic candidate,

Hillary Clinton, did win the popular vote during the election, republican candidate, Donald

Trump, won over the Electoral College, therefore winning the presidency. After the election

liberals and conservatives continue to contradict beliefs nearly to the point in division between

social bonds and relationships between the parties. Since the beginning of his presidency, Trump

has made numerous promises to his Americans including the construction of a 7-border wall,

repealing and replacing the Obamacare Act, and establish a travel ban on Muslims (Stakin).

What all those promises have in common is that none of them have been successful.

One of the main political arguments include one of President Trumps most popular

ideas: the establishment of a seven-border wall between the U.S. and Mexico. Although it is a

way to keep dangerous illegal immigrants out of the U.S., the idea with building a wall to replace

the border already established faces a few conflicts. Although Trump is a multi-millionaire, the

funds for such a border seem highly impossible even for him to conquer.
According to the United States Customs and Border Protection, border patrol agents

make $52,583-$97,486 a year (USDHS). With over 21,000 agents, the United States spends

billions of dollars just funding for its border patrol salaries; the border itself was $12 billion.

With Trumps new ideas, the 20 to 50 foot border wall will cost over $25 billion, and above that,

he plans on having Mexico pay for the border wall. Although Mexicos president, Enrique Pea

Nieto, refuses to fund for this wall, Donald Trump insists that it is possible that the United States

will be financially stable enough to fund for the walls expenses. Although there are Americans

willing to help fund and construct this massive landscape, the establishment of a border wall will

not go on to be a successful act for this fellow president. There is a heavy agreement that the

United States is secure as it is with its current border. Although there are some misconceptions

dealing with the current issue of immigration, a seven border wall is not the main concern in

order to keep the country safe.

Although the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, has had some financial issues

regarding U.S. Citizens, it has helped patients everywhere attain affordable medical attention and

helped save so many lives. Since medical attention does not come cheap, the ACA is funded

through taxpayers (USHHS); it is provided to applicants who qualify financially and seeking

medical attention. Throughout Obamas presidency, some were outraged to see their money be

taken out of their checks for this act and demanded a repeal. Donald Trump promised Americans

he would take immediate action into this health care act, in order to do so, he promised to repeal

and replace the act with which he has yet to reveal.

By doing so, Trump will be taking away the healthcare of over 10 million Americans.

Although he has proposed an alternate act, Americans everywhere have felt threatened with their
healthcare, and possibly life, at stake. Throughout Obamas presidency between 2008 and 2016,

there have been several complaints over his Obamacare act taking away money off of taxpayers

checks. Although this was his way of paying for the lower classs healthcare, other Americans

were not too happy to see their checks decline due to this. Those under the act were kept silent

until a consideration to repeal Obamacare took demand. Donald Trump plans on replacing the

Affordable Care Act with a new healthcare bill that will benefit all, including taxpayers. He has

been kept quiet over whats to happen after he repeals the act, but it is on his to-do list to make

america great.

Ever since September 11, 2001, Muslim terrorists were visualized to be one of Americas

biggest rivals. For years, they have not been viewed the same and were lead to discrimination by

Americans. Simple actions such as wearing hijabs, saying Islamic prayers in public, or just

simply looking sketchy to the public, can direct Muslims towards hatred and discrimination to

Americans in fear that they are possibly terrorists. It did not stop them from continuing to

practice their faith, fortunately. Although Muslims roughly make up 1% of the U.S. population

(Mohamed), it is expected to grow due to the amount of pride in their hearts disregarding the

discrimination. It has been over 15 years since the faithful day in 2001, Americans began to grew

to be more understanding over Muslims and accept their religion and race. Due to his oppressed

concern with Americans and their safety, Donald Trump still insisted in having a temporary

Muslim ban to protect America from terrorism.

One of Donald Trumps first and most dramatic actions was a Muslim travel ban of

citizens of seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the US for a period of 90 days

(Rothwell & Kroll). Being so sudden, traveling Americans were left in shock that they were
taken away their right to visit home or have loved ones come to see them. Those 90 days that one

percent of the population did not keep silent and stood up along with other liberals that helped

their voices be heard. Along with the Muslim ban, there was a 120 day refugee system

suspension. Trump declared that extreme vetting will help radical Islamic terrorists out of the

US (Rothwell & Kroll). Although the Muslim ban and refugee system pause did not last long, it

was an eye opener and a little foreshadow to what was yet to come for the next four years. After

the so-called Muslim ban taking its unsuccessful action, there have been unfulfilled promises and

threats to the community made by president Donald Trump.

Even though his plans did not have the outcome he initially intended, Donald Trump will

continue to fulfill his acts and repeals in order to Make America Great Again. The meaning

behind his popular slogan is to take away former president Barack Obamas acts and replace

them. By doing so, Trump has caused a sudden political war between liberals and conservatives

which seems to have no end. Opinions on what should be right and wrong were thrown left and

right and the rants seem endless.

Ever since his first day in office, Donald Trump has proven that he may be one of the

most unqualified presidents in United States history. From having no political experience, to

expressing racial feuds, to banning a whole religion from entering the United States, to planning

to fund a wall, to threatening the health care of millions, Donald Trump has left a great remark

based on his first one hundred days in office. Until his term ends in 2020, America will just have

to figure out what kind of remark this president will leave on his country.
