Q: Tuxera NTFS 2015 : Can't totally remove from my Mac.

Hi,

I seem to have biggest frustration with this software when each time I plugged my usb external
HDD, there is always this message popping up;

"Tuxera NTFS for Mac: Trial expired. Your 15 day trial has expired. Please purchase a product key to
continue using Tuxera NTFS for Mac, or uninstall the product from the Tuxera NTFS preference
pane (System preferences ...Tuxera NTFS)."

Things I've done to remove this software HERE but to no avail.

I even did OS X recovery, no go as well.

A little help and suggestion really appreciated!

Did you peruse its instructions ? They are available here: http://tuxera.com/mac/onlinehelp /en/index.htm
and state the following:

2.2 Uninstalling Tuxera NTFSfor Mac

Tuxera NTFS for Mac can be easily uninstalled using the Uninstall Tuxera NTFS... button in the Tuxera NTFS
preference pane, which will be available in System Preferences once you have installed the package. See section 4
for a description of the other features in the preference pane.

Q: Tuxera NTFS 2015 : Can't totally remove from my Mac.
If this should fail for some reason, an uninstall script exists at the following location:

/System/Library/Filesystems/fusefs_txantfs.fs/Support/uninstall-package.sh

Never use any so-called "cleaner" or "app zapper" programs to uninstall software, such as the examples
cited in the link you posted.

from the system preference pane, i right clicked and remove it.. doesnt really notice if there is any
uninstall option.

and i run the script, no usefs_txantfs.fs

cd /System/Library/Filesystems/usefs_txantfs.fs
-bash: cd: /System/Library/Filesystems/usefs_txantfs.fs: No such file or directory

i tried to install the tuxera ntfs 2015 again so that i can try to uninstall it properly but then i can no longer
install the trial one since it is expired.

Really stuck here.

Your recourse is to contact the developer for support with their product . If they oer an installer script it
may be included with their downloaded installation package, or you may be able to obtain it from them
separately, or you may be able to find out what it does and perform those same actions. Or, you may be
compelled to purchase their product just so that you can uninstall it properly. Good luck.

keenobe, I've just solved the same problem.
You'd open terminal and try to run the script with sudo:
sudo /System/Library/Filesystems/fusefs_txantfs.fs/Support/uninstall-package.sh

I also tried all of the above options.
So searched on "tuxera" (incl. sys files) and deleted all of these files but was still getting the annoying
message.
so deleted "fusefs_txantfs.fs" and voila!!

If you are like me, you'll find "fusefs_txantfs.fs" in
/Library/Filesystems
not
/System/Library/Filesystems
