I Sugarcane:
1. Sugarcane Leaf Hopper (Pyrilla perpusila) along with Life Cycle and Control Measures

3. Sugarcane Stem Borer (Chilotrea infuscatellus)

II Cotton
1 Pink Boll worm (Pectinophora gossypiella) along with Life Cycle and Control Measures
2 Red Cotton Bug (Dysdercus cingulatus)
3 Cotton Grey Weevil (Myllocerus maculosus)
4. Surface Grasshopper (Chrotogonus trachypterus)

(a) Insecticides of Plant Origin with special reference to Nicotine, Pyrethrum, Rotenone and Azadirachtin;
(b) Chlorinated Hydrocarbon Insecticides with special reference to DDT, Toxaphene, BNC, Chlordane, Aldrin,
Endrin and Endosulfane;
(c) Organophosphorus Insecticides with special reference to Malathion, TEPP, Parathion and DDVP;
(d) Carbamate Insecticides with special reference to Carbaryl and Carbofuran
(e) Fumigants with special reference to Hydrogen Cyanide, Methyl Bromide, Ethylene Dichloride, Carbon
Tetrachloride and Aluminium Phosphide

(b) Behavioral Control Involving Use of Pheromones
(c) Integrated Pest Control ( IPM): Introduction, Prerequisites, Implementation Strategy, Framework and
Perspectives

NOTE: Nine Questions are to be set.


Question No 1 will be Compulsory consisting of 10 short/multiple choice questions each of 1.5 marks;
covering the whole syllabus. Total Marks 15
4 Questions will be set from each of the Section A and Section B; and 2 Questions are to attempted
from each of them; each Question will carry 13 marks
In all 5 questions are to be attempted including Compulsory Question No 1
About 50 % of the Questions will be split in to 2-4 subparts
