Listen to and understand the different vocabulary and phrases about
housekeeping and cleaning.
Practice conversations with sentence frames such as Do you want me to

cleaning and instructions in the activity instruction.
Practice writing sentences with taught vocabulary and phrases describing
activities that other people (in the picture & gesture/movement) are
doing.
The students have basic knowledge and experience of cleaning activity
and have the need to be more proficient in this particular area for their
job as house cleaners.
We will ask them about their experience about being in the cleaning job
field and the difficulties they have encountered in the past. Do they all
clean houses for a living? Then, we will have a brief review and
introduction of what we would teach in this class and address their
problems and questions during class.
I will ask students about what they know and what they didnt know
about their familiarity of the tools, motions, and context of the lesson.
In the last class, the students felt the need to study the content of the
vocabulary of the house objects, cleaning tools, and cleaning activities
so she was very engaged and concentrated.
I will speak to each student and walk around, making sure that students
the body gesture of the movement themselves and answer our
questions.
Students will be describing and writing down the activities from the
pictures we provided; and they will have a full conversation with us
through a role play. For example, they will be the one who give
directions and instructions of the housekeeping activities, and be very

I will ask the students about their trouble and concerns regarding
cleaning vocabulary and phrases in the beginning of the class to see if
we solved their problems. What else do they want to know? And in
what ways do they want us to present the content?
We will be using handouts (see Appendix A)and laptop for playing
videos.
In the beginning of the class, the student was excited that we would go
over this topic because it closely connects to her job field. During the
class, she was very engaged, when asked to use gestures and perform
the activities, the student was able to differentiate different verbs and
movements. By the end of the class, she also learned many new words
and phrases such as dryer, trash bin, vacuum cleaner, take out
the trash, sweep the floor, do laundry, etc.
For this class, not much things went out of the plan. Everything went as
expected.
I asked the student to do a pop-quiz by using what she had learned
from this session to check whether she had comprehended the content,
and it turned out that she fully understood the subjects.
I would bring some realia to class to provide more vivid examples
instead of merely showing pictures on line. And I may take the student
out of the classroom and walk around the campus and talk about
cleaning.
Yes, she did. She was able to identify and recognize pictures for

She expressed the needs to apply what she learned from this class in
real life practices.

I realized that sometimes I may speak with mistakes without noticing,
although the students English proficiency is low, she can still be
misguided and confused in the future. Therefore, I should be more
careful when I speak to the students with correct grammar.
