Subject: Mathematics II
Objective: The student will formulate and use different strategies to solve on step
linear equations.
Essential Question: Last year, the Apple store had a profit of $56 million. This year
the profit is $67 million more than last years gain. What is this years profit?
Agenda:
Teacher led Instruction: The teacher will lecture on the inverse property of addition.
In addition, she will explain the definition and show an example of the property with
words and variables.
The teacher will give several examples on the board on solving addition and
subtraction equations/ multiplication and division equations.
Guided Practice: The teacher will assign 10 problems from the textbook to the
students. The teacher will go over the work with the students.
Independent Practice: The student will go to the assigned group area and complete
the following worksheet (see below).
Wrap up: The teacher will review 8 problems from the independent practice.
