Overall aim and context of the lesson

4SGP1 Draw, identify and describe the location of


.objects on a map using grid references

The context of the lesson is use grid reference in a


.map to describe the location for an object
Choose two aspects from the competency areas to evaluate and discuss
(one paragraph each) according to following:

1 discuss one aspect that you feel you did very well. Try to
analyse why you think it worked well and what hints you would
share with other teachers about the successful strategy/
resource/activity/management style etc.

Positive aspect of the lesson:

I focused in students' behavior and I managed their misbehavior during


the lesson by remembering them about the rule which is (raise your
hand). In the beginning of the lesson I show to them the rule visually to
remind them. They raised their hands before they speak or if want to go
to bathroom or if they have question or of they need help
I divided the whole class into two groups, one of them was small group
of five students for guided reading and another group was the rest of the
students. I told them to finish their independent work quietly and don't
interrupt me while I am sitting with the small group.
I think I explained the vocabulary well with the small group and I listen
for each student reading.
I was ready for their questions about the topics in the book and I
explained that topic with the book's pictures to support.
2. elaborate on the aspect identified by you that requires attention.
Discuss what the problem was, why it occurred and what action you intend to
take to be more successful in the next lesson.

Requires Attention:

I would improve the worksheet that I give to the whole group because it
was complicated to some students and I would to change some questions
to make them easy and the students can answer it easily.

For the small group which I did with them guided reading, I would to
highlight the vocabulary that I explained at the first time to make sure
they recognize more about the meaning when they reading the whole
topics in the book.

3. outline the personal focus and goal of the next lesson.

Personal focus for the next lesson:

- Time management, I spent a little long time during the guided


reading because some students were reading slowly. Also, when they
write the notes about the main ideas, they spent more than the
specific time that I determine in the lesson plan.
