Overview
The DeNovoSwitching Platform composes of intelligent call routing, billing, real-time monitoring,
reporting, and customer management. It is a high performance and extremely scalable Class 4 Soft
Switch that suitable for both retail and dialer traffic. The DeNovo Switching Platform is designed to be
the single integrated system that a carrier would need to run a successful VoIP business.

The platform utilizes a fully redundant design with live calls migration and it is capable of automatic
failover, thus ensuring unparalleled reliability. Our multi-dimensional reporting capability provides you
all the tools necessary for you to run your business most efficiently, such as traffic statistics report and
real-time profitability analysis.

Logging into DeNovoLab


To connect to the DeNovoLab web server, enter the URL (demo.denovolab.com) in the address bar of
the Internet Explorer. The login screen is displayed when the server is connected successfully.

To login to the application

1. Enter the username in the UserName field.

2. Enter the password to login in the Password field.

3. Enter the code to verify in the Verify Code field.

4. Select the language from the Language drop-down field.

5. Click Login. On successful login the Landing page displayed. Refer System Setting section for more
information setting the landing page.

The QoS Monitor page comprises the following sections:

Charts Displays charts for the data that is selected from the dropdown list.

Session Session displays the current number of ingress channel, egress channels, total channels, and
total connected calls.

Point in time - Displays the ingress channel, ingress CPS and Calls data for a particular point of time. This
could be the current data, 24 hours Peak, 7 days peak, or a recent peak.

Historical Displays the ACD, ABR, Calls, and PDD data for a period of 15 minutes, 1 hour and 24 hours.

Configuration
The configuration section allows the administrator to configure the features that the carrier user can use
once the users logs in to the application.

Carrier Portal CDR Fields


This option allows the administrator to select the required CDR fields in the carrier portals.

To select the CDR fields

1. Click Configuration > Carrier Portal CDR Fields. The Carrier Portal Allowed CDR Fields page is
displayed.

2. Select the required fields.

Note: You can select more than one field by pressing the CTRL key in the keyboard and selecting the
required fields.

3. Click Submit. The success message is displayed.

CDR Generation Format


This allows the administrator to select the Ingress and Egress CDR Fields required in the CDR report.

To select the Ingress and Egress fields

1. Click Configuration > CDR Generation Format. The Auto CDR Generation Format page is displayed.

2. Select the required fields in the Ingress and Egress CDR Fields section.

Note: You can select more than one field by pressing the CTRL key in the keyboard and selecting the
required fields.

3. Click Submit.

Change Password
This option allows the administrator to change the password for the users logging into the application.

To change the password

1. Click Configuration > Change Password. The Change Password page is displayed.

Field Name Description

Old Password The password used by the user to login to the application

The password that is going to be used by the user to login to the


New Password
application

The password that is validated to see if the password entered matches


Confirm Password
the password entered in the New password field

2. Enter the old password in the Old Password field.

3. Enter the new password in the New Password field.

4. Enter the new password again in the Confirm Password.

5. Click Submit. The user will be automatically logged out the application. The user can login using the
new password.

Fail-over Rule
Fail-over rules define when the call should stop routing to the next trunk or host on receiving specific
codes returned from egress trunk. Certain SIP error code and message can be returned to ingress on
receiving certain return code from egress. The administrator can specify failover rule at the trunk level.
The administrator can also specify the default setting for fail-over rules that will apply to the entire
system.

To create a fail-over rule

1. Click Configuration > Fail-over Rule. The Default Failover Rule page is displayed.

2. Click button. The following page is displayed.

Field Name Description

Stop: Stops the routing to the next host or trunk if the specified SIP
Error Code is received.

Fail to Next Host: If the specified SIP Error Code is received, fail over to
Route Type the next host in the trunk. If there is only one host or no more hosts to
be retried, the call should be reattempted with the next trunk.

Fail to Next Trunk: If the specified SIP Error Code is received, fail over
to the next trunk only.

Code SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) Error Code

The error code that should be returned by the ingress trunk if Route
Response
Type is specified as Stop.

3. Select the route type from the Route Type drop-down field.

4. Enter the SIP code in the Code field.

5. Enter the code and the response in the Response field.

5. Click Submit. The success message is displayed.

6. To clear all the values in the fields, click Reset.

Deleting the Failover Rule

This option allows you to delete the failover rule.

To delete the rule

1. Click the button of the corresponding rule to be deleted.

FTP Configuration
The FTP configuration is a tool for automatic CDR transfer to an external FTP server. The Admin can
specify more than one FTP configuration and they can be triggered by schedule or manually trigger at
anytime

To configure the FTP details

1. Click Configuration > FTP Configuration. The FTP Configuration page is displayed.

2. Click button. The New FTP Configuration page is displayed.

An alternate name provided for the configured FTP. Once configured,

7. Select the frequency from the Frequency drop-down field.

8. Click the FTP Execute On field to select the time FTP execution time.

9. Enter the number of lines to be stored in the file in the Maximum lines per file field.

10. Select the type of file breakdown from the File Breakdown drop-down field.

11. Select the required originating and terminating trunk from the Originating and Terminating fields.

Note: You can select the All checkbox to select all the originating and terminating trunks.

12. Select the required fields and click the Add button to include the selected fields.

Note: You can delete the selected fields, by clicking the Delete button. You can also order the fields by
clicking the Up and Down buttons.

13. Select Yes / No option from the Include Headers drop-down field to include or exclude the header s.

14. Select the required duration of the calls to be included from the Duration drop-down field.

15. Select the originating release cause and terminating release cause from the Originating Release
Cause and Terminating Release Cause fields.

16. Select the required file type from the File Type drop-down field.

17. Enter the required details and click Submit. The created FTP is displayed.

Note: By default, the FTP is deactivated.

Activating the FTP


To activate the FTP

1. Click the button in the Active column of the corresponding FTP to be activated.

Modifying the FTP Details


This option allows you to modify the existing FTP details.

To modify the details

1. Click the icon of the corresponding FTP to be modified. The following window is displayed.

2. Modify the required details and click Submit.

Testing the FTP


This option allows you to test the FTP server that is configured.

To test the FTP

1. Click the icon. The success message is displayed.

This option allows you to delete the existing FTP.

To delete the FTP

1. Click the icon corresponding to the required FTP to be deleted. The confirmation message is
displayed.

2. Click OK to delete the FTP.

Triggering the FTP


This option allows you to trigger the created FTP. You can set the start date, end date, time zone and file
breakdown details to trigger the FTP.

To set the trigger

1. Click the Trigger tab. The following page is displayed.

Field Name Description

Invoice Setting
This option allows you to create the template for the invoice. Details such as the logo, billing details,
company info and the fields in the invoice can be defined.

To set the invoice

1. Click Configuration > Invoice Setting. The Invoice Setting page is displayed.

3. Enter the convention to be followed when numbering the invoice in the Invoice Number Convention
field.

4. Select the Overlap Invoice Protection to checkbox to avoid overlapping of invoices.

5. Select the location of the billing details from the Billing Details Location drop-down field.

6. Enter the billing details in the Billing Details field.

7. Enter the company details in the Company Info field.

8. Select the required field names from the Invoice CDR Fields.

Note: You can select more than one field by pressing the CTRL key in the keyboard and selecting the
required fields.

9. Click Submit.

Updating the Invoice Setting


This option allows you to update the details of the invoice.

To update the invoice setting

1. Click Configuration > Invoice Setting. The following page is displayed.

2. Modify the required details and click Submit. The success message is displayed.

LRN Setting
This option allows you to set the local routing number.

To set the LRN

1. Click Configuration > LRN Setting. The LRN Setting page is displayed.

Field Name Description

Primary IP The primary IP address used to set the LRN

Secondary IP The secondary IP address used to set the LRN

Primary Port The primary port through which is LRN is routed

Secondary Port The secondary port through which is LRN is routed

The number of milliseconds the call will be held before the system
Timeout MS

Retries The number of times the call is tried

Server The name of the server

Automatic Number Identification that allows the users to display or

To validate the LRN setting

1. Select the required sever from the Server drop-down field.

2. Enter the ANI number in the ANI field.

3. Enter the DNIS number in the DNIS field.

4. Enter the remote timeout in the Remote Timeout field.

5. Click Test.

Mail Sender
Mail Sender is the list of email servers that can be setup and used to send out various emails from the
platform.

To create a new email format

1. Click button. The email sender window is displayed.

Field Name Description

Mail Server The name of the mail server used the send emails

Mail Port The port through which the mail server is accessed

Username The authentication name required to access the mail server

Password The authentication password required to access the mail server

An option to set if authentication is required.

Authentication True Authentication is required

False - Authentication is not required

Mail Template
This option provides the users with various templates for invoice, payment notice, insufficient balance,

receipt, and notice of rate upload. Using the required templates, mails can be triggered.

To trigger a mail

1. Click Configuration > Mail Template. The following window is displayed.

Ping and Traceroute


The ping option allows you to determine if a particular IP address is accessible. Ping works by sending a
packet to a specified IP address and waits for a reply.

Traceroute tracks the path that a packet takes from your computer to a destination address. A
traceroute also shows how many times your packets are being rebroadcast by other servers until it gets
to the final destination.

To ping an IP address

1. Click Configuration > Ping and Traceroute. The following window is displayed.

2. Select Ping from the Type drop-down field.

3. Enter the IP address of the server in the IP Address field.

4. Click Submit. The following output is displayed.

To traceroute an IP address

This option provides the users with details of transactions for a particular carrier over a specified period
of time.

1. Click Finance > Actual Transactions. The following screen is displayed.

Adding a Credit Note


This option allows you to add a credit note to the invoice. A credit note is a commercial document issued
by a seller to a buyer. The seller issues a credit memo for the same or lower amount than the invoice,
and then repays the money to the buyer or sets it off against a balance due from other transactions.

To add a credit note

1. Click the button in the corresponding invoice where the credit note is to be added. The following
window is displayed.

2. Click Add. The following page is displayed.

3. Enter the note in the Note field.

4. Enter the amount in the Amount field.

5. Click Submit. The success message is displayed and the new note is displayed in the list page.

Adding a Debit Note


Debit note is a document used by a purchaser to inform a vendor of the quantity and amount of goods
being returned, and also requesting the vendor to return the amount to the purchaser. A debit note is
often used to return goods on credit.

window is displayed.

1. Enter the search criteria in the Search section.

Monitoring
This option allows you to monitor the different functions performed by the application.

Loop Detection
This option allows you to detect the loops that are available. It comprises two tabs Criteria and Log.
You can specify conditions in the Criteria tab to detect the loop. The actions performed can be viewed in
the Log tab.

Criteria
1. Click Monitoring > Loop Detection. The following page is displayed.

Note: By default, the Criteria tab is selected.

The active call report displays the list of active calls along with the details such as call duration and the
